00:52we're a little bit frustrated we're confused what's going on what is Howie
00:55doing he's trying to patch up these holes don't worry I think he has a plan
00:59and here we see another step in that plan just as of a few minutes ago
01:03breaking news the Philadelphia Eagles have come to terms with outside
01:08linebacker Aziz Ojalary on a one-year deal aka one of the best edge
01:15rushers on the market ladies and gentlemen the Eagles have signed Aziz
01:20Ojalary to a one-year four million dollar contract Brendan Deeks has loved
01:25the signings only 24 years old a lot of upside former second-round pick with 22
01:30sacks in 46 games and hey I'm gonna add a little bit more to it guess where he
01:34went to school I'll give you one guess where'd he go to school Georgia he's a
01:39bulldog man Howie Roseman can't get enough of the Philly dogs another Georgia
01:46bulldog in the house ladies and gentlemen Aziz Ojalary as ESP says here
01:52great move best edge available among the free agents only 24 years old checks the
01:58upside box he has 22 sacks 37 quarterback hits in 46 games and he was
02:0685th in total pressures last year with 22 but only had 202 pass rush snaps most
02:12in his snap range had around 10 to 15 so what has been the issue with Aziz
02:17Ojalary as it says it's his health it's not his ability former second round pick
02:23this guy has racked up the numbers but he can't really stay on the field and
02:27honestly if you asked me to choose between a guy who is really talented but
02:32has had health concerns versus the guy who just doesn't have the talent he
02:37doesn't have the ability I'm picking number one every single time sure you
02:42tank a bank on this first off I can't believe that this guy was still in the
02:45market the last couple days I've been kind of surveying and monitoring and I
02:49just I see this guy's name keep coming up Aziz Ojalary Aziz Ojalary I'm hearing
02:54all these different spots for him and then I started to see people say yeah
02:58how he's gonna get that done how he's gonna get Ojalary please Howie and he
03:02gets him not only does he sign him he signs him this late into free agency one
03:07year four million dollar contract I mean you talk about low risk high reward
03:12holy smokes and with Vic Fangio in this system I mean we saw a guy like Zach
03:19Bohn come in last year he was supposed to be an edge we saw what they did with
03:22Bohn who knows what they can do with Ojalary Vic Fangio just got another toy
03:27to play around with and a guy who is very talented has a lot of upside just
03:32needs to stay on the field maybe he doesn't have to play on that crap anymore
03:36it meant life ladies and gentlemen this is an amazing signing this is a home run
03:41signing we've talked about some of the other guys they've picked up I haven't
03:45been overwhelmed right with Josh Uche maybe he can have another breakout year
03:49and we talked about these other guys who have kind of been backups elsewhere this
03:53guy is super talented and I honestly think that Howie probably had this
03:57already in store or was negotiating or knew that he could come to an agreement
04:02the Eagles don't have a ton of cap space they've been using a little bit here and
04:06there to sign these other guys but four million dollars I mean that is bang for
04:09your buck that is an absolute steal and he probably did it because of the health
04:13right and I mean Ojalary probably wants to bet on himself come to a team that he
04:18knows is most likely gonna be pretty good and then get a big contract next
04:22year so just an a-plus signing Eagles edge group now comes together Smith, Hunt,
04:28Ojalary, Uche, Huff and likely a rookie so yeah I mean Jalex Hunt, Nolan Smith
04:34then you think about the other young guys on this line Jalen Carter, Moro Ojomo,
04:39Jordan Davis now you start to feel a lot better like hey maybe it's not too bad
04:43and oh by the way the next two years they have 20 draft picks oh by the way
04:47every other position is almost really filled what do they need a starting
04:51safety so Howie just continues to find ways to bring in these playmakers and
04:56I'm excited I'm really excited about this Thomas Peterson says Aziz Ojalary
05:01and Adoree Jackson will be all pro players this year and giant fans will
05:05suffer once again watching Aaron Rodgers or Russell Wilson drive their team into
05:10the ground that is probably a hundred percent accurate I think that's who the
05:13Giants are gonna sign they're gonna go with a vet and Adoree Jackson and Aziz
05:18Ojalary will come to an actual competent organization with a good coach and start
05:23to play well that's what's gonna happen it reminds me a lot of James Bradbury a
05:26couple years ago right they called him a bus I think they cut him and the Eagles
05:30picked him up late and what did James Bradbury do he came here he turned into
05:34an all-pro player different coaching staff different situation but the Giants
05:38players right Saquon they just seem to thrive in midnight green now Joshua
05:43Uche also talked today about this group he says that he's excited to join the
05:48other defensive linemen on the Philadelphia Eagles he says watching the
05:51Super Bowl they rushed with reckless abandon he had other offers and free
05:56agency but he thought the Eagles were the best fit for him and coming off his
06:00Super Bowl he wanted to join the Eagles that's pretty crazy considering he was
06:04on the Kansas City Chiefs but that statement also made me think about Aziz
06:08Ojalary right because he says that the Eagles were the best fit and I think
06:13about Ojalary and again here's an article that they put out on ESPN you
06:18know Ojalary played in just seven games in 2022 because of calf ankle and quad
06:23injuries he dealt with ankle and hamstring injuries in 2023 and he missed
06:27the final six games this past year with a toe injury but Giants were abysmal
06:31anyway but it says the Giants primarily made Ojalary a situational pass rusher
06:36in 2024 after trading for Brian Burns last spring he was behind Burns and
06:42Kavon Thibodeau and it says he had success when Thibodeau was hurt five
06:46sacks in a three-game stretch before suffering yet another injury so again
06:51the health scare is definitely there but when I think about fit and think about
06:56this situation in that situation the Eagles defense isn't just one guy it's
07:01not like only me or only him it's a collective effort there it's a team
07:06identity and I think about the fit and if the Giants were able to put this guy
07:11in a situation to succeed think about what Vic Fangio is going to be able to
07:16do with this guy I'm really excited about this signing the twitchy rusher is
07:20known for his impressive bend around the edge 14 sacks in 29 games over the past
07:26three seasons and again a former Georgia Bulldog we look at his numbers
07:31eight sacks rookie year five and a half in seven games the next year two and a
07:36half in 11 games and six in 11 games on a crappy team so once again home run
07:41signing by Howie Roseman why do we doubt him we never should we never should
07:46lastly Mekhi Becton signs off as a Philadelphia Eagle he says that he will
07:53have a piece of Philly with him for the rest of his life Mekhi Becton and CJ
07:58Garner Johnson are really the two signings that I don't like or signing in
08:02trade and you know I'm really thankful to have seen Mekhi Becton resurrect his
08:07career here in Philly not only was he so dominant not only was he amazing but he
08:12I mean he just changed his life like shout out to him and he says coach Jeff
08:16Stoutland thank you from day one you believed me even before I believed in
08:21myself you saw something in me challenge me push me to reach a level I never knew
08:27I had you made me a better player but more importantly a better man what I'll
08:31take away most is your mindset your attention to detail and the way you
08:35prepared every single day you set the standard and that will stick with me as
08:39I continue my career so obviously how he's banking again I'm getting younger
08:44right the Tyler Steen's of the world or you know he's getting younger on the
08:48defensive line right Jalex Hunt and Nolan Smith but I think when players
08:53talk about the Eagles organization and the coaching staff and the example that
08:58has been set and you hear other free agents out there looking for a new home
09:03trying to you know save their careers and take care of their families and they
09:07hear stuff like this they're like yeah I'll take a little bit less I'll go to
09:11Philly in a way better situation on a team that looks like it can still
09:15compete and try to bring myself back to life and maybe earn a big payday again
09:19you think Zach Bohn or Makai Becton looked at their careers last year and
09:24said yeah I'm gonna be really high paid players no they were like hey I have one
09:28more shot one more shot left in the chamber we'll see what happens and look
09:32at them now so I really do think that a part of free agent decision-making is
09:38where can I go you know to best help my individual career as well and the Eagles
09:42just set a great example is that shout out to Makai Becton we will miss you
09:46tremendously I definitely will miss him CJ Gardner-Johnson some of these other
09:50guys but again how he continues to cycle things through he is setting up this
09:54grand master plan for the next two to three years with the draft capital and
10:00the young guys and being able to pay all these guys and if it keeps going like
10:04this listen man I think Harry Roseman is going to look like a genius sooner
10:09rather than later he already is so anyway that's where we're at man but the
10:12Philadelphia Eagles have a new edge rusher one of the best on the market
10:16probably was available because of how deep the draft class is and his health
