A few days ago, Adam Schefter confirmed that the Eagles will be making a trade on draft night. But what does that mean? Are they trading up, back, or for a veteran? Today, we break it all down! Also, RB provides three potential trades up in the first round that feel realistic for the Eagles given the track record of Howie Roseman. In other news, Justin Simmons wants to be in Philly and it sounds like there is a very good chance of it happening. Today, RB discusses all of this and more!

00:00So it's all but confirmed the Eagles will be making a trade on draft night, but what does that mean?
00:06Are they moving up in round one, moving back out, or staying exactly where they are and making a trade that we may not see coming?
00:13There are so many possibilities, but today we are going to break it down a little bit more.
00:18And I'll give you three different scenarios where I could see the Eagles moving up to land a prized acquisition.
00:25We'll get into it all, but welcome into A to Z Philly.
00:28I'm RB. Do me a favor. Like this video, go down below, subscribe to the channel.
00:32It is about to get spicy in a couple of weeks because you know, how we Roseman, he never makes the draft dry.
00:39You know, like he's always going to do something, come out of left field and try to make it happen.
00:43So I'm really excited. But before we get into the draft stuff, just a little roundup of news over the last couple of days.
00:50So Justin Simmons, once again, goes on the up and Adam show and he reveals to K Adams that the Philadelphia Eagles are still on his target list.
01:02He says three teams he chose were the Bills, the Eagles and the Bengals, all of whom he said it would be special to play for.
01:09I mean, this is quite obvious, right? Like I've never seen a guy come out here and kind of like reverse tamper.
01:15Like this guy literally is trying to beg to play for the Eagles, right?
01:19He was on the K Adams show. It was at a month ago. And we talked about that as a potential free agent signing.
01:24Uh, I think this would come probably after the draft. So it doesn't count against the compensatory pick formula, but he signed for 7 million last year, had a decent season in Atlanta, still wants to play ball.
01:36A lot of familiarity with Vic Fangio. Eagles have avoided safety. They're coming off a Superbowl win. He wants to compete and try to win one.
01:44It is the perfect match. And I do believe that it is going to happen, but do you want Justin Simmons?
01:50Do you think that would be a good move for the Eagles? I don't think there's a lot of risk.
01:53Give me your thoughts down below in the comment section. Also, Eagles have set a new top 30 visit with versatile Penn State safety.
02:03Jalen Reed, John McMullen talks about this here. The Eagles will be hosting Penn State safety.
02:09Jalen Reed on a top 30 visit. According to Mike Garofalo, he is also meeting with the Giants, the Lions, the Ravens and the Jets.
02:17You know, it's kind of hard in the pre-draft process to even know, right?
02:21Like, who do they have interest in? Who do they have high grades on? We don't really get a lot of info.
02:26I think just kind of grading the draft overall is hard to begin with because there's so many rounds, so many players.
02:32And that's why I personally try to rely on the people that are there, that are at the combine, that are around all these people,
02:39the league execs, the team execs, all that. But it's just hard to know, you know.
02:44But anyway, another safety coming in and has a visit scheduled with the Philadelphia Eagles.
02:50Now, let's get into this draft stuff because, ladies and gentlemen, Adam Schefter pretty much confirmed the other day
02:56that the Eagles will be making some moves on draft night.
03:00Here is the quote from Adam Schefter more specifically.
03:04He says,
03:05I don't know for who, I don't know for what, I don't know when it will happen, he told NFL on ESPN.
03:11They will be moving and shaking as they usually do in Philadelphia.
03:15So there you go.
03:16I mean, if we needed more confirmation than we probably already had from a gut feeling,
03:21the Eagles are going to make a trade.
03:22But what does that mean?
03:24Does that mean moving up?
03:25Does that mean moving back?
03:26Is that round one later on?
03:28Well, Adam Schefter does elaborate a little bit more here.
03:31He says, that's the kind of move, a day three trade for a veteran that I think we could see from the Eagles this year.
03:38I think they've got as much firepower in this draft as any team out there.
03:42When you give a Super Bowl champion 20 draft picks in the next two drafts to go have fun with,
03:47you become a team to watch.
03:48And again, just masterful, brilliant work from Howie Roseman.
03:52Kind of brings me back, what was it, a couple years ago when they traded a fourth round pick, got DeAndre Swift.
03:58So that's probably the kind of trade that he's alluding to.
04:00However, nobody's drafting 20 guys in the next two years.
04:04I think the Eagles could be gearing up to move up in the first round.
04:09And I'm going to tell you the three players right now that I think that the Eagles could move up for
04:15and actually make a splash trade for on draft night.
04:18If you have any thoughts or predictions, let me know down in the comments.
04:22But let's just talk about the draft a little bit.
04:25OK, because there was a mock draft put out by Ruben Frank over on NBC Sports Philly.
04:32And I just want to run through this real quick.
04:34Throw out a couple more names.
04:35Again, it's very hard to kind of grade these guys on the back end because, again, there's so many players getting drafted.
04:41There's going to be some hidden gems later on.
04:43Guys that you think are going to go in round one.
04:45They go in the fourth round.
04:46There's guys you think are going in the fourth round.
04:48They go in the second round.
04:49It's just hard to kind of project, you know.
04:51So, again, I try to rely on the expert opinions and the people that are around it.
04:56But what I will say is that the Philadelphia Eagles have to look at this and stick to their original philosophy, right?
05:04Last year, you got to put yourself in their mindset.
05:08They were coming off an absolute collapse.
05:10They needed something.
05:11They needed a spark.
05:12And while they still have positions of void right now, they're not nearly as big.
05:17You just won the Super Bowl.
05:18So, 85% to 90% of me tells me that Howie Roseman is going in the trenches.
05:25That's what he always does.
05:26Even if it's not a position of need now, he likes to get out in front of it.
05:30He likes to get out in advance and draft a guy for the future.
05:34And specifically, when I look at the defensive line, right, you think about Josh Sweat leaving.
05:39You think about Milton Williams leaving.
05:41But not only those two people forget, Brandon Graham was an integral part of this team early on, and he's now retired.
05:48So, you're really taking a gut to your defensive line.
05:52And Jay Lux Hunt was amazing.
05:53Nolan Smith was amazing.
05:54But you need more.
05:56So, as of right now, I know I said on the last video that Josh Connerly is the way I'm leading.
06:01But I'm starting to think it might be an interior defensive lineman, a guy who can come in and produce right away.
06:06Or, because this class is so stacked with edge rushers, if the right guy is there, I think Howie's going to manipulate the board a bit and just find a way to maneuver to the guy he wants.
06:17So, who are those guys?
06:19Let's go over to the Eagles mock draft database.
06:22Here are the guys that they currently are projected to take at 32.
06:26The options, right?
06:28And I've been looking at a lot of these guys and their tape and all.
06:31They're all fantastic prospects.
06:33I think a lot of these guys have bright futures.
06:35But there are three guys right now that I could see the Eagles trading up for.
06:40Number one is Donovan Ezraku.
06:43We talked about him a couple days ago.
06:45This guy's explosive.
06:46The numbers are there.
06:47The production.
06:48He's a South Jersey product.
06:50He just blows you away when you watch the tape.
06:52And I think he's going to be really good at the next level.
06:55A lot of these guys have traits that will translate well to the next level.
06:59And Donovan Ezraku right now is projected to go around that 20-25 range.
07:03I could see the Eagles moving up about five picks trying to get him if he is still on the board.
07:08I like his game a lot.
07:10The other guy is Malachi Starks, who we've already talked about a lot.
07:13Just a very explosive weapon as well.
07:16Versatile.
07:16Could play safety corner.
07:18I think he would fit the mold of a Vic Fangio defense.
07:21And I think he'd be a really good pro.
07:24And what do you know?
07:25Another guy coming out of Georgia.
07:26You know how he loves the Bulldogs.
07:28And the last guy is also a Georgia Bulldog.
07:30And that is Mikel Williams.
07:32But I think he might be a little bit higher.
07:35Like the 10-15 range based on the mock drafts I've seen.
07:38Again, we don't know.
07:39Certain guys can fall 20 picks.
07:41I mean, it's all a guessing game, right?
07:43And these teams know a hell of a lot more than we do.
07:46But I think that would be like the whoa, the big gasp.
07:51Here's Howie Roseman again.
07:53He's trading up this far to get Mikel Williams.
07:56So that's another name to keep your eyes on.
07:58But you know who Howie Roseman is like?
08:01You ever go to the boardwalk at the beach?
08:03And there's like that stupid game where you throw the ball off that little slanted wall.
08:08And you got to like slide it in.
08:09And the guy keeps charging a dollar, two dollars.
08:12Yeah, keep playing.
08:13Keep playing.
08:13You're going to get it.
08:14And he just manipulates you and you never win.
08:17I never want to see that damn game again in my life.
08:21And these other GMs, keep in mind, probably don't want to do business with Howie Roseman.
08:25They see the success.
08:26They don't want to see the Eagles win again.
08:29They see Howie Roseman fleecing them every year in the draft and using all these picks
08:33and finding ways to generate more.
08:35They don't want to work with Howie Roseman.
08:37So keep that in mind.
08:39I think Howie's numbers are going to be blocked by some of these GMs.
08:42He keeps calling them up and he keeps making these trades look absolutely masterful.
08:46At some point, they're going to be like, nah, man, leave me alone.
08:49But anyway, if we look at a couple mock drafts here, this is from CBS Sports.
08:54The guys that I talked about, right?
08:56Mikel Williams.
08:57Let's see.
08:58Here they have them going at number 17 to the Cincinnati Bengals.
09:02Malachi Starks at 24 and Ezra Raku at 27.
09:06I think those are pretty fair projections and grades.
09:08I have another one here from tankathon.com.
09:11They have Williams again at 17 to the Bengals.
09:13This one, they actually have Starks at 13.
09:16I think that'd be a high jump for him, to be honest.
09:18I think he'll go in the 20s.
09:19But Ezra Raku at 29.
09:22And I hope he doesn't go to Washington, even though I think he'd fit pretty well there.
09:26So those are just a couple of the different projections and mock drafts for those players.
09:30But a lot of good guys, James Pierce, you know, and Ezra Raku, Derek Harmon, like all these guys would fit well in Philadelphia.
09:39Kenneth Grant.
09:40I mean, Emin Worry.
09:41I like a lot of these prospects, and I think it's fitting well for what the Eagles needs are right now.
09:47But just to finish it off, here is the full mock draft from Ruben Frank.
09:52He's got Josh Connerly in round one.
09:55He's got JT Tuomalu in round two.
09:58Gunnar Helm, a tight end in round three.
10:00I'll tell you what.
10:01I'm starting to think the Eagles might go tight end in round two.
10:04Look at some of the tight ends that they've had in the past.
10:07Look at even Zach Ertz, Dallas Goddard, and some of the other really productive picks that have worked out for this franchise in round two.
10:14A lot of them are usually hits.
10:16I think they're going tight end in round two for the Dallas Goddard replacement.
10:20I hope Goddard is back.
10:21It just doesn't feel like he will be.
10:23Riley Mills, DT in round four.
10:25Nick Nash, a wide receiver in round five.
10:28Dylan Fairchild in round five.
10:30Jalen Reed, Colin Oliver.
10:32So that's who Ruben Frank has the Eagles taking.
10:35Just more names to keep your eyes on.
10:37But as of right now, I think in the first three rounds, they're going with an edge rusher or interior defensive lineman, or maybe both.
10:46They're going with an offensive lineman and tight end.
10:49I think those are the three areas that they're looking at right now.
10:53If a safety falls and he's the perfect prospect on their board, I think they could take one as well.
10:59But I think they're going to sign Justin Simmons.
11:01They're going to have Sidney Brown in the building.
11:03Keely Ringo at corner, and you have other prospects that you can work with.
11:08And maybe they draft one in day three, but it just doesn't feel very Howie-ish right now.
11:14It just feels like he is going to go in the trenches, which has been their traditional philosophy.
11:19And it has worked out well, and I think it'll work out again.
11:22So give me your thoughts on the Eagles draft right now.
11:24We're about two and a half weeks away.
11:26Give me all your thoughts down below in the comment section.
11:27As always, appreciate everybody for tapping in.
