04:16Everybody's like yeah, well, you know the contract situation and his age and his durability
04:21Look, I get all of the concerns and to bring up what Nick Suriani said here the other day about Dallas Goddard right now
04:28He's on our football team. Obviously Dallas has meant a lot to us
04:31We'll see how it plays out feels like he's all but gone right same thing with what Howie Roseman said
04:35But I will continue to die on this hill that it makes
04:40Absolutely, no sense to trade Dallas Goddard

04:44understand trying to get younger trying to maximize now like a four or five year window and
04:49Trying to cycle in more young players from the draft
04:52I understand that how he's making tough decisions right now when it comes to trading players
04:56But it makes zero sense to go out and trade a player when you have no solidified backup
05:03I understand Dallas Goddard is 30 years old
05:05But this guy has been here for seven seasons and although he's never been able to put it all together
05:11He's been a very productive player when he is on the field. He's also been a big-time big game player, right?
05:18he plays very well in the postseason and I would rather take six seven eight hundred yards and a
05:23Couple really good postseason games from Dallas Goddard other than the alternative option right now
05:28Which is we really don't know are the Eagles gonna, you know trade up and draft a tight end
05:34Are they gonna draft one in round one round two? Are they going to trade for one around the league?
05:38What is the option here because again if you had a guy in the works kind of how Dallas Goddard was already
05:45Spinning for a couple years before they went and traded Zach Gertz. I'd say yeah, no problem, right?
05:50Go with the younger guy who has shown some flashes of potential and let him rock and roll
05:55But right now it just doesn't make any sense at all
05:58when you look at Dallas Goddard and who else they have on the roster like is Grant Calcaterra or
06:04The couple guys they signed in free agency going to make the difference absolutely not
06:09Jalen Hurts is comfortable with Dallas Goddard and right now it just does not make any sense again
06:14I understand trying to optimize the window and you have to get rid of some of these bigger contracts
06:20But in my opinion Dallas Goddard is still a staple of this offense and it's almost a bit of over correction
06:28It's almost trying to plan everything out and be too perfect
06:31That you're ready to move on from a guy when you have no obvious replacement
06:35So honestly, it does not make any sense
06:38Similar to the CJ Gardner Johnson trade even that position you have guys who are maybe ready to step in
06:44But getting rid of Goddard just doesn't make any sense to me
06:48Derek on a couple days ago says there's no doubt Eagles want Goddard back
06:51But they're hoping to reduce his financial number and honestly if I was the Philadelphia Eagles right now
06:57All right, and we're looking at Dallas Goddard's contract this upcoming season
07:02He has a cap hit of 11.8 million
07:04Even if you go ahead and cut him right he has a potential out with a dead cap of just about 11.1 million
07:10I mean you're still gonna take a hit and what I would try to do if I was Howie Roseman is
07:15Work with him to extend a couple years lower his cap hit this year and try to spread that out a little bit
07:22but you're gonna need him to be here for another year or two that way you can draft his
07:27Replacement and develop them and see if they are ready over the next couple of years all these people say yeah
07:33Well, you're not the GM. This is why you don't know what you're doing. You're right
07:37I'm not the GM, but what I'm telling you is right in front of your face slapping you in the face
07:42It makes no sense to trade Dallas Goddard
07:46Just like it really didn't make a lot of sense to trade CJ Gardner Johnson
07:49You had just signed CJ and you could have kept him for this year and then traded him and I went ahead and I looked
07:55Up some stats a little while ago earlier today
07:57And you know Dallas Goddard is third or fourth all-time in Eagles receiving yards in terms of tight ends
08:04He is number 13 all-time in terms of any Eagles in franchise history in receiving yards
08:10He's had a really good career and that's with missing a lot of games
08:14I still believe he can play at a high level
08:16We saw that in the playoffs again
08:18And I believe that the Eagles need to kind of keep that offensive nucleus together
08:23And I think Dallas Goddard is the security blanket. He's the
08:27Underrated weapon right? He goes under the radar because of AJ and Devante and Saquon, but he's still really good
08:33He's still a really good tight end
08:35And if we look at some of the NFL tight ends right now ranked in terms of salary and cap hit this upcoming season
08:43I mean Dallas Goddard is down here at number 10, and he's better than some of these guys. So look I get it
08:50I understand what how he's trying to do, but you can't overdo it
08:54This is an obvious choice for me Dallas has to stay at least for another year
