00:00Is this exactly what you wanted to do, what you wanted to show?
00:05Yeah, I mean it went really well.
00:08The team did an amazing job.
00:09We pulled first and then in the final we knew we had to make it hard.
00:13At the end it was quite windy and on the wheel you could save a lot.
00:19But I'm glad I had Veltoro because even with headwind he pulled amazingly
00:24and I was really suffering on the wheel.
00:27But everybody else was also.
00:30And then I went for it and I had to just put my tempo to the top.
00:36The last K or so I suffered a bit but I'm really glad I could make it.
00:42Congratulations.
00:45Tom, you didn't exactly come for the point classification but here you are.
00:49It shows your consistency.
00:51You wanted to win today but to second, is that the best result possible?
00:56No, I think I could have stayed with Ayuso to be honest.
01:00I think I was trying to pace, get a little easier time around that corner.
01:07I just let the wheel go a little bit.
01:11Ayuso was for sure the strongest but I think for sure I could have stayed
01:14on his wheel a little longer.
01:15Especially with that little flat part before the final one and a bit kilometers.
01:20I think I was stronger than ever today on a climb of 20 minutes.
01:28I think I was kind of pacing myself but actually I was stronger than I thought.
01:35I'm a bit frustrated but it's always difficult when you try to pace yourself
01:46on a climb like this.
01:47Thank you very much.
01:49Juan, how does it feel to be back in the leader jersey of a stage race?
01:54It's great.
01:55Last year I was nearly all week with this jersey and then I lost to a stronger rider.
02:01This year I was all the week without it and I think finally I'm going to be able
02:06to take it home.
02:07I prefer this outcome.
02:09Do you have this feeling of an achievement for your first part of the season
02:12as you have this jersey after the Queen's stage here?
02:16The race is won tomorrow so I don't want to say I've won it but if everything
02:19goes well tomorrow and there's no inconveniences, it should be a nice day.
02:25For sure this was a big goal of the first part of the season towards the Giro.
02:32I really set the goal to win this race and I'm just super proud of me,
02:37of the team and everybody around me to help me to achieve this.
02:40See you tomorrow.
02:42Anuele, was it a more relaxed day in defence of the jersey?
02:47Yes, definitely.
02:48Today was a bit easier than yesterday.
02:51I didn't want to go into the breakaway because I wanted to try the final climb
02:55and see how I was doing.
02:56I just didn't recover well after yesterday's stage.
02:59So I pulled the reins a bit because I wanted to try the last breakaway tomorrow.
03:08How was the run-up to the last climb?
03:11It was nothing.
03:12I pulled the reins really hard and I held on for two or three kilometres.
03:18Then I saw I wouldn't make it to the top so I gave up a bit.
03:24Is the last stage, as a final run-up, important for you?
03:28For sure it's very important for the team.
03:31What do we do in the last stage?
03:34We lead it beautifully so before going into the breakaway,
03:38I hope it's a good run and that I make it.
