00:00Two people were injured in the explosion of a diesel tank in the compound of a factory in Valenzuela City.

00:07The Bureau of Fire Protection also reminded us how to respond and avoid this incident.

00:13Mark Salazar was in touch with us.

00:19This underground diesel tank exploded in a factory compound in Barangay Veinteriales, Valenzuela City.

00:28The tank exploded at 8.31 in the morning of March 14, 2025.

00:37It was fired out in just 10 minutes.

00:41Even though it was quickly reddened, two people were still injured.

00:44The first one was hit by a car.

00:52There were just a few splinters. The other one's hair was burnt.

01:02It is still being investigated as to why the tank exploded when it was supposed to be empty.

01:07We are still looking into whether the tank will be downed or not.

01:11The investigators are still looking into the cause of the explosion.

01:20An employee was found, but the body was not authorized to be found in the factory.

01:25We are still trying to talk to the owner.

01:28Authorities are urging to avoid this incident, to be careful even in simple activities such as welding, acetylene or any power tools.

01:39There should be a standby fire extinguisher in case there's a fire.

01:50In addition to the more than 200 fire stations in the city, there are more than 20,000 establishments in the city, including many factories.

01:58That's why they are training those who can help in responding or force multipliers, such as volunteers.

02:06Residents are also being trained.

02:08That's why we launched the fire olympics, so that the barangay leaders know what to do in case there's a fire in their barangay.
