00:00The sale of NFA buffer stock has increased to a price of 35 pesos per kilo.

00:07The Agriculture Department is already working to lower the price of onions.

00:19The first day of the sale of NFA rice, which was only a buffer stock back then, was delayed,

00:24but it was allowed to be supplied to the public by the Food Terminal Incorporated or FTI

00:30due to the declaration of the Food Security Emergency.

00:33San Juan City Hall was one of the buyers of the NFA buffer stock,

00:36and it was sold without a price tag in Lunson.

00:40It was 1,650 pesos per sack, but there was an option to sell it for 33 pesos per kilo.

00:48It's a big thing that I was able to save more than 1,000 pesos.

00:59In a month, how much do we budget?

01:01The initial allocation for Metro Manila was 150,000 pesos per sack,

01:05but it will increase depending on the demand.

01:08It is sold to LGUs and government agencies for 33 pesos per kilo

01:14or 1,650 pesos per sack.

01:17But it can be sold to buyers for up to 35 pesos per kilo.

01:22It's okay to be resold if they only sell it for 33 to 35 pesos.

01:27Just don't sell it to businesses for more than 33 or 35 pesos.

01:33Instead of cutting the expenses for our farmers,

01:37we are saluting them.

01:38That's also my feeling to the Metro Manila mayors.

01:40Let's salute them.

01:42It is expected that NFA Rice will also start selling to LGUs that bought it,

01:47like Camarines Sur.

01:49As of now, there are a lot of stocks.

01:51There is no limit.

01:52Of course, if the demand of LGUs nationwide suddenly increases,

01:57then we will have to set the weekly limits.

01:59Meanwhile, onions are reaching up to 240 pesos per kilo.

02:04Onions, they just have to look at it.

02:07They can't get a kilo.

02:10The Agriculture Department will study the placement of maximum SRP on onions

02:15if it doesn't go down in price when importers arrive.

02:18Harvest is coming soon.

02:21If we get MSRP on onions, it will be limited to just two weeks.

02:25All cold storage of onions are being sent to the Bureau of Plant Industry.

02:31We will inspect if there are new harvests that are being hidden and not being sold.

02:35Because if they did that, that's wrong.
