Transcript
00:00I'm Clive Gunshaw, Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire, absolutely delighted to support
00:04International Women's Day in 2025. Supporting victims of domestic abuse, which is disproportionately
00:14kind of targeted towards women, is really important to us. Working with the community
00:19about initiatives where we can support victims of crime, making sure that women get the support
00:26they need to prevent them becoming victims in the first place. It's absolutely the priority
00:32of what we want to achieve. International Women's Day is important because it is about
00:38bringing together all the services and the community to recognise the challenges that
00:44women face and the issues around domestic abuse and the impacts on women within Lancashire
00:52is large and it is really important. One of our biggest priorities that we have now
00:59is tackling violence against women and girls. Together, through the work that we are doing,
01:05we are confident that we can make great strides going forward, making sure women get the support
01:12they need and making sure the community come together and recognise that. I think women
01:19in Lancashire can look forward to making sure that they are safe and secure and it
01:25is about that safety and security through strength.
