Lancashire's police and crime commissioner Clive Grunshaw with an update on e bikes and scooters
Transcript
00:00Clive Gunshall Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire. Recently written to the Home Secretary, working really closely with the Labour Government to make Lancashire a safer place.
00:12I've got real concern about e-scooters and e-bikes and the way they're being misused by some particularly young people but not just young people.
00:24Speeding too fast on pavements, causing an absolute nuisance, reckless behaviour, causing real problems for some of our communities.
00:36Wherever I've been in Lancashire, people have been telling me about the problems that they're having with people on the scooters and on the e-bikes.
00:47So we want to make Lancashire a safer place. We need legislation that will allow us to intervene, make it clear what is legal, what's illegal,
00:57give the police the powers to issue notices to make sure that people are behaving the way that they should.
01:06Through this office we will make sure that Lancashire is a safer place and it is about safety through strength.
