00:00 Hi, I'm Andrew Snowden, Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner and in this week's
00:04 update video I want to talk to you about the work that we're doing with the Safe for Lancashire
00:08 Neighbourhoods Fund. That's the money Lancashire Police through Op Warrior, all that investment
00:13 I've supported in taking the fight to organise crime, knocking doors in, seizing cash and
00:19 assets and then all of that money, once it's seized off the criminals through the Proceeds
00:23 of Crime Act, I give it back to local communities through the Safe for Lancashire Neighbourhoods
00:28 Fund. I'm going round the county, I've just been meeting with Kirkham Town Council, we've
00:31 got a grant to upgrade CCTV to prevent antisocial behaviour and we've got lots of grants that
00:37 we've given out across Lancashire, over £1.2 million of criminals' money we've given back
00:43 to communities and the police to prevent and deter crime and I love getting out and about,
00:49 talking to communities, talking to the representatives of local areas about ways those grants can
00:54 be used and spent for diversionary activities such as youth clubs, boxing clubs, work with
01:00 local football clubs, all the way through to making streets safer through things like
01:04 CCTV, gates, lighting, everything that can be brilliantly used by taking criminals' money
01:11 to help make Lancashire safer.
