00:00Good evening from Villa Park, where in the second half of tonight's match against Chelsea we saw the Marcus and Marco show.
00:09That's Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio, those two big January signings, January loan signings for Villa,
00:16combining twice to earn Villa a comeback win against Chelsea, which has breathed new life into their challenge for a top five Premier League finish,
00:26which will likely bring Champions League football next season.
00:29This game was a must win for Unai Emery, he said it as much in his programme, we need to win as the only objective.
00:35For much of the evening it didn't look like Villa were going to win, they trailed early to Enzo Fernandez's ninth minute goal.
00:42Chelsea started really well, Villa didn't get into the game for the first 20 minutes,
00:47came back into the game a bit more towards the end of the first half and had chances.
00:51Olly Watkins twice denied by goalkeeper Philip Jorgensen, but at half time Emery had seen enough really, he wanted more.
01:00He brings on Marcus Rashford and within 13 minutes Rashford had created the level up for Marco Asensio,
01:06the goal initially flagged for offside but then overturned by VAR.
01:13Chelsea had the best chances after that to actually go 2-1 up.
01:16Cole Palmer shooting wide and then seeing an effort blocked by Esri Konza after he'd beaten Emi Martinez.
01:25But it was Villa who got the win, Jorgensen going from hero to zero in the space of about 60 seconds,
01:32the Chelsea goalkeeper denying Daniel Marlon one-on-one.
01:37Then from the corner, a short corner routine, Rashford crossing Asensio's volley and the ball slipped through the arms of Jorgensen and a big win for Villa.
01:48If they'd lost today they'd have been seven points behind Chelsea having played a game more.
01:54As it is they are one point behind, other results went their way today, Fulham lost, Bournemouth lost and with 11 games to go Villa are still very much in this race.
02:03Today is a reminder of why they're paying the wages they are to Asensio and Rashford when they deliver big wins like this, it's all worth it.
