Transcript
00:00Good afternoon from Bodemoor Heath where Unai Emery has held his press conference ahead of tomorrow night's game against Brentford Villa.
00:10Obviously looking to snap an eight game winless run which has really kind of put the brakes on their momentum over the last two years really.
00:19Villa have just been used to winning a lot of football matches so for them to go eight games without a win in all competitions feels a bit strange.
00:29It's five games without a win in the Premier League, they're now down to 12th in the table.
00:34But it's still quite a congested table and a couple of big games coming up this week, big games at home for Villa.
00:41Brentford tomorrow and Southampton on Saturday which appear to offer the opportunity to get back on track.
00:49Whether Emi Martinez will be playing tomorrow is a question, however the goalkeeper came off on Sunday with an injury.
00:58Unai Emery has now confirmed that the goalkeeper has a small bone fissure in his finger and is a doubt.
01:06Martinez is going to try and train this afternoon and if he feels okay, if he doesn't feel too much pain then he's probably going to play.
01:16The good news for Villa is that this injury is not as bad as was first feared or was first reported shall we say in Argentina.
01:24Some reports last night claiming that Martinez had suffered a fracture and will be out for two to four weeks.
01:29It's not as bad as that but obviously a question mark tomorrow, such a huge player for Villa.
01:36The one player where they really don't have a replacement.
01:41Robin Olsen has not played many games in the last two and a half years for Villa which has made things not easy for him.
01:49Constantly coming in every so often to the team.
01:52He did play in the second half at Chelsea and did pretty well so that should help him should he be needed to play tomorrow.
02:00Villa are looking to get back to winning ways at home.
02:04They've just won two of their first six Premier League games at home.
02:07It was this week last year that they beat Manchester City in Arsenal to set a new club record of 15 straight wins.
02:12So they really want to get back to winning ways.
