00:00Hello. We've had a lot of grey weather recently, but I do have some good news for some of us
00:06if you're hoping for anything a little bit brighter. There will be some hazy sunshine
00:10on offer through today in a few places. Not everywhere, though, and worth bearing in mind
00:14there is a weather system coming in from the west. That's going to bring some wet weather
00:17to parts of Northern Ireland and Scotland later. But for the time being, looking at
00:21this afternoon, and yes, it's across parts of, well, many parts of Wales into central
00:26and southern England where there's a good chance of seeing some brightness breaking
00:29through, some hazy sunshine quite likely here. Elsewhere, a fair bit cloudier, some thick
00:34cloud towards North Sea coastal parts, also across Scotland and Northern Ireland, some
00:38fairly thick cloud. And in the southwest, some drizzly outbreaks of rain perhaps here
00:43as well. Temperatures are still going to be a little bit on the low side for the time
00:47being. They are picking up later on this week, but still a bit below average. And with the
00:52wind still coming in from the east southeast, that's going to add to the chilly feel to
00:56things, especially where you're stuck under that cloud. Now, later on, I mentioned we
01:00have a weather system that is going to spill its way across Northern Ireland as we go through
01:04this evening and then the rain pushing across parts of Scotland overnight as well. Further
01:09south and east across much of England and Wales is staying largely dry. Quite a bit
01:13of cloud for western parts. Further east, some clearer skies. Now, as the rain that
01:17pushes across parts of Scotland hits the higher ground, we are likely to see something wind
01:22entry, some sleet, some snow over modest higher ground, really even to lower levels.
01:26We could see a centimetre or so, but above 200 metres, we're looking at the potential
01:30for up to around five centimetres of snow developing, which is why we do have a warning
01:35out through Tuesday. Also worth bearing in mind, there could be some freezing rain, particularly
01:39on the southern part of this warning region, and that could lead to some icy stretches,
01:44some difficult driving conditions as we go through tomorrow. Otherwise, in temperatures,
01:48I did mention the fact that we have some clearer skies towards eastern parts here. We could
01:52see a touch of frost where we get any clearer breaks. Further west, it's cloudier, it's
01:56wetter. It's also going to be windier towards the northwest, and we're starting to see some
02:01milder air pushing its way in. Then as we go through tomorrow, yes, it's going to be
02:06fairly wet at times across parts of Northern Ireland, the rain feeding further across parts
02:11of Scotland and still some sleet, some snow, some freezing rain for a time as well. But
02:15we have something a bit drier coming in from the southeast. That's going to do a couple
02:19of things. It's going to help push the rain away towards the north, so most places turning
02:24largely dry as we head through the afternoon. And it's also going to break the cloud up,
02:29that lingering cloud that many of us have had through the last few days or through the
02:33last week or so. That's going to start to clear, so greater chance of seeing some of
02:36that hazy sunshine. Those brighter periods are going to be a bit more long lasting as
02:41we go through tomorrow than they will be through today. We're also going to see something a
02:45bit milder coming in from the southwest and so temperatures starting to pick up. Still
02:49a chilly feel to things towards the east northeast, but in the southwest could be looking at temperatures
02:54just about getting into double figures. So yes, starting to feel that little bit milder
02:59for many of us. Now, as we go further on through the rest of the week, we are going to see
03:03some unsettled weather coming in from the west. So we're going to see some rain, some
03:07stronger winds at times, and they will push their way eastwards. But the further east
03:11you are, the greater chance you have of staying mostly dry. And it's worth bearing in mind
03:15with those temperatures creeping up, we're looking at mid-teens by the end of the week,
03:20and it could even feel a little bit spring like at times in those drier periods in between
03:25any spells of rain. But for more information about what we can expect through this week,
03:30then do check out our week ahead forecast, which will be available on both our YouTube
03:34channel and also our app later on this afternoon. I'll see you again soon. Bye bye.
