00:00Hi there. Having seen so much sunshine and increasingly warmth through the week, it's
00:06all changed heading into the weekend. It's cloudier, it's breezier and it's going to
00:10turn increasingly showery as these areas of low pressure slowly emerge from the south-west.
00:15Already bringing outbreaks of rain into south-western parts and those outbreaks of showery rain
00:21through the afternoon will spread into parts of west Wales, eventually Irish Sea coast
00:26but actually it's mostly confined at this stage to western and south-western fringes
00:31whilst the rest of the UK sees another mostly fine day although with a lot more cloud in
00:36places and more of a breeze so naturally it will feel cooler compared with Thursday's
00:42warmest day of the year so far, high teens more likely than 20 or 21 Celsius. Still though
00:48warmer than average for the time of year. Now heading into the evening, that's when
00:52the rain in the west and south-west really spreads more widely across the UK. Plumes
00:58of wet weather pushing north across England, Wales into Scotland and Northern Ireland as
01:03well and by dawn it's really across Scotland, Northern England and Northern Ireland where
01:07we've got the most persistent rain with a few showers elsewhere, a lot of cloud and
01:12more of a breeze so naturally it's going to be a milder start to the weekend compared
01:17with recent mornings, 11 degrees in places but certainly a wet start to the day for Scotland,
01:22for Northern Ireland, for much of Northern England into the Midlands. It does brighten
01:26up across the rest of England and into Wales, some sunny spells emerge but the air is unstable
01:31and so into the afternoon chances some hit and miss downpours developing. These will
01:35be slow moving, difficult to pinpoint exactly where they're going to occur, most likely
01:40through these central parts but anywhere across England and Wales could see a sharp shower.
01:43Still some warmth, 17, 18 Celsius but not feeling quite so pleasant across Scotland
01:48and Northern Ireland, that's where the most persistent rain will linger throughout Saturday
01:52along with a strengthening wind coming down from the north. Also windy in the north-east
01:57of Scotland with some heavy rain near Shetland. Sunday's another showery day but there'll
02:01also be some brighter spells away from the showers although a lot of cloud cover and
02:05low cloud at that is expected. A little more settled into the working week next week.
