00:12Particularly, the love scam where some of our countrymen were victims.

00:24Do you often visit social media to look for someone to be with forever?

00:29Be careful, because instead of sweet love, you might be included in the list of victims of love scam.

00:37The PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group, the public is being careful here.

00:42Because according to their data, the number of cases of love scams in 2025 has increased to 8.

00:49Through social media, the suspects are getting inside the victims.

00:56Their mode is to introduce themselves as a retired U.S. Army.

01:00They use different pictures or images of celebrities to make the victims fall in love with them

01:08until they ask for money.

01:10But when it's time to send money, they will be blocked immediately.

01:15We should remember that these scammers are using dummy accounts to deceive people.

01:22So if you are a victim or experienced in cybercrime, you can contact the PNP ACG.

01:33Aside from asking for money, the scammers are also encouraging their victims to invest in cryptocurrency.

01:40According to the ACG, most of the victims, from 25 to 74 years old,

01:47received more than half a million pesos from the scammers.

01:52In 2024, the number of victims of love scams reached 72.

01:58The PNP ACG reminds our countrymen, especially women and young people,

02:05who are looking for love life online,

02:08that we should be careful in our online interactions,

02:13especially in dating apps or social media platforms.
