00:00Some police personnel who served as guards to private individuals left the country due to the upcoming election period.
00:08Meanwhile, the PNP intensified the Kamalek Checkpoints,
00:12which is the result of the nationwide gun ban in the country.
00:16This is what Ryan Leziguez reported.
00:20More than 800 people of the Philippine National Police or PNP
00:24who served as guards to some personalities,
00:27politicians, and government officials were recalled due to the upcoming election.
00:32According to Police Regional Office 3 Director and PNP Spokesperson,
00:36Police Brigadier General Jane Fajardo,
00:38445 were removed from the list of government officials.
00:44228 were transferred to private individuals,
00:47and 197 were removed from the list of candidates.
00:51Brigadier General Fajardo said,
00:53No matter how severe the threat to an individual's life,
00:57the PNP is giving an extension of one month
01:00before removing the escort until the application for authorization from Kamalek is finalized.
01:06The PNP may also get protective agents from licensed and private security agencies,
01:13but it will only allow a maximum of two guards.
01:17Those protection agents should have a license to exercise their profession
01:24and they should be employed by what we call private detective agencies.
01:31Other than that, private individuals cannot be bodyguards of anyone running,
01:39especially while we are under the Kamalek election, at least during the election period.
01:44The PNP's return to police security personnel is part of the policy
01:49to avoid politics and remain non-partisan.
01:55Those assigned to the main office of the PSPG,
02:02according to General Nestor Babagay, the director of the PSPG,
02:06they will undergo a repressure course.
02:09After the election, they can be deployed to the areas that need protective security.
02:18For those assigned to the regions,
02:21they will be distributed and used for election duties
02:27to increase the presence of territorial police.
02:31Meanwhile, the PNP's Kamalek checkpoint continues.
02:35In fact, more than 63 guns were confiscated by the authorities.
02:40Almost 100 were arrested by the PNP,
02:43including the nationwide Kamalek gun ban in the country.
02:47According to the number, 33 were arrested at the checkpoint,
02:5110 were arrested in the bypass operation,
02:5333 in the police response,
02:55and 3 were arrested in the search warrant.

03:023 security guards,

03:08and 1 appointed government official from the BARMM.
03:12Some are showing their license to own and possess firearms
03:19and firearms registration,
03:21but we are explaining that since the election period started,
03:25only those individuals who have an exemption from Kamalek,
03:30even if they have a permit to carry firearms outside the residences
03:35and places of business,
03:38are sanctioned or at least covered by the gun ban.
03:41According to the DILG,

03:47since January 12.
03:49According to the DILG Secretary John Vicremulia,
03:52this is part of the Strategic Measures on Peace and Safety Concerns
