00:00From Metro Manila, the target of the Department of Agriculture is to expand the sale of NFA rice to the entire country.
00:10This is at a time when the Food Security Emergency has been declared.
00:15Secretary Francisco Chulaurel Jr. explained that the government is also considering other local governments,
00:23especially in places that have a nearby NFA warehouse that is full of rice.
00:30As of now, NFA rice has been sold for PHP 450,000 per kilo for Metro Manila,
00:38and the delivery is possible from February 7 to the 15th.
00:45Chulaurel is positive that the National Price Coordinating Council has accepted the resolution for the declaration of the Food Security Emergency.
00:56The DA said that a declaration is needed to lower the price of rice in the markets and to expand the NFA warehouses
01:07so that new rice can be purchased this harvest season.
