Transcript
00:00Tired of hidden TFL fees or being overcharged for your journeys?
00:04Well, Transport for London is now making it easier for passengers to claim refunds
00:09under its new app, Upgrade.
00:11Tube and bus passengers will be able to check their journey history almost instantaneously,
00:15which will help them to quickly request money back after a so-called card clash.
00:20This means it will now be easier to check how much you're being charged for journeys
00:24made with Oyster cards or on contactless.
00:26The update will make it easier to apply for a refund for incomplete journeys.
00:30This can happen if different cards or devices are used to touch in and touch out.
00:35Currently, passengers can only request a refund through TFL's website
00:39or on the specific Oyster and contactless app.
00:42The upgrade will also enable passengers to top up their Oyster cards
00:46and buy season tickets via the app.
00:48However, concessionary Oyster cards such as the 16 plus and the 18 plus Zip cards
00:53and the Care Leavers and Apprentice photo cards
00:55will not be able to use the app to view journey history or add credit.
00:59TFL says it will look to add adult concessionary cards to TFL Go in the future,
01:04but for now to expect the current plan to roll out over the coming weeks.
