00:37He is the fifth Special Envoy ASEAN has appointed to Myanmar since the February 2021 military

00:44coup that sparked a political and humanitarian crisis in the country.

00:48Osman previously served as the Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry and the Chairman of

00:54the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia.

00:57He led the Foreign Ministry during Malaysia's chairmanship of ASEAN in 2015 and also served

01:03as Malaysia's Ambassador to the United States and Czech Republic.

01:09Osman was accredited to the UN Human Rights Council and headed the Malaysian delegations

01:14to the regular sessions of the UNHRC between 2009 and 2012.
