00:00Good morning to all of us. This is the latest weather update for Thursday, December 26, 2024.

00:08Currently, the effect of the cold or northeast monsoon is slightly weakening

00:13and because of that, the rainfall of the shear line has also decreased.

00:18The shear line is not affecting any part of our country,

00:21but if we can see here in our latest satellite animation,

00:25there are clouds that are affecting the southeast part of our country.

00:31That is the Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ.

00:34As a result of this ITCZ, we will experience rainy weather in a large part of Mindanao,

00:40as well as in Palawan.

00:42Meanwhile, although the shear line is not affecting any part of our country,

00:46the light to moderate rainfall will continue

00:50in the northeast monsoon zone or Hanging Amihan in the eastern sections of the Northern Luzon.

00:56In a large part of our country, only isolated thunderstorms are possible.

01:01These are the occasional or sudden rains that we usually experience in the afternoon or at night.

01:08Currently, we are not monitoring any low-pressure area or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility

01:15and we do not expect any LPA or typhoons to affect any part of our country in the coming days.

01:22But starting tomorrow, the effect of Hanging Amihan will gradually increase

01:27and as a result, the effect of the shear line will gradually be felt,

01:32especially in the northern part of the Luzon until the upcoming weekend.

01:37And for areas of Mindanao, as well as here in Palawan,

01:41as well as in some parts of Visayas, it is possible for a rainy season to occur.

01:46This is the Intertropical Convergence Zone until the upcoming weekend.

01:52We already know that the weather will be bad here in the Luzon.

01:56After the continuous shear line of Hanging Amihan,

01:59we still expect cloudy skies and light to moderate rains in the Cagayan Valley

02:05as well as in the Cordillera Administrative Region.

02:08Meanwhile, here in Ilocos Region, it is possible for fair weather or generally fair weather conditions

02:12except for the occasional weak rains or storms.

02:18In the cold part of the Luzon, in the Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabar Zone,

02:23in the Mimaropa and Bicol Region, we expect improved weather conditions

02:28except for occasional showers of rain followed by localized thunderstorms.

02:35We will monitor the thunderstorm advisory issued by our regional services division.

02:41For the temperature forecast, in the surrounding cities,

02:44here in the Luzon, the average temperature will be around 24 to 31 degrees Celsius.

02:5029 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature here in Taguigarao.

02:55In Baguio, 17 to 24 degrees Celsius, 23 to 31 for Metro Manila,

03:00and 31 degrees Celsius is the maximum temperature for Legazpi City.

03:05Here in Tagaytay, the average temperature will be around 22 to 29 degrees Celsius.

03:12The weather will change in the cold part of our country, here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

03:18As we saw in our latest satellite animation earlier,

03:22due to the effect of the Intertropical Convergence Zone,

03:25we expect dark weather in Mindanao and other parts of Palawan.

03:33It is possible for moderate to heavy rainfall,

03:36especially in the eastern section of Mindanao, in the Caraga and Davao Region area.

03:41We may experience heavy rainfall.

03:44So, double caution to our countrymen,

03:46because it is possible for floods and landslides.

03:51Meanwhile, during the rainy season here in Visayas,

03:54we may experience partly cloudy to cloudy weather conditions,

03:58and there are also possibilities of isolated thunderstorms.

04:04Usually, we experience this in the afternoon or at night.

04:07As for the temperature forecast for the neighboring cities,

04:10in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao,

04:12we expect 31 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature here in Puerto Princesa,

04:17as well as in Calayaan Islands,

04:19as well as in the neighboring cities here in Visayas,

04:22in Iloilo, Cebu, and Tacloban,

04:25we may also experience 31 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature.

04:29As for the temperature forecast for Cagayon de Oro,

04:31we expect 25 to 30 degrees Celsius as the maximum temperature

04:36for Zamboanga and here in Metro Davao,

04:40we may experience 31 degrees Celsius.

04:44As for the situation of our ocean,

04:46we do not have any gale warnings for high tides,

04:50but we still have to be careful about the expansion plans

04:53in the coastal areas of Northern Luzon

04:55because we expect high tides

04:58and moderate to rough sea conditions

05:00in the coastal areas of Luzon and in the eastern seaboards of our country.
