The prosecution has filed an appeal challenging the Kuala Lumpur High Court’s decision to acquit Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor of all 17 money laundering charges and tax evasion charges, said the Attorney General on Friday (Dec 20).

00:00Attorney General Datuk Mohamad Dusuki Mokhtar on Friday said the prosecution had filed an
00:07appeal challenging the Kuala Lumpur High Court's decision to acquit Datin Sri Rosmah Mansor
00:13in her money laundering and tax evasion case.
00:19He said a notice of appeal was filed on Friday against the entirety of the court's decision,
00:25which will be decided by the Court of Appeal.
00:28On Thursday, the court allowed the application by the wife of former Prime Minister Datuk
00:33Sri Najib Razak to strike out all 17 charges.
00:37The ruling resulted in Rosmah being discharged and acquitted of the charges.
00:41The court said the prosecution had failed to present the key elements of the offence
00:45of money laundering in the charges brought against Rosmah.
00:49In October 2018, Rosmah was charged with 12 counts of money laundering involving 7 million
00:56ringgit and 5 counts for failing to declare her income to the Inland Revenue Board.
