00:00Psychosocial activities are being conducted by internally displaced persons in Negros Occidental
00:05affected by the eruption of Volcano Canlaon.

00:15To take care of the mental health of evacuees in Negros Occidental,
00:20the Department of Social Welfare and Development
00:23and local authorities are now helping in the implementation of psychosocial activities.
00:28In Bagos City, a Zumba session is being held for the evacuees
00:32to strengthen their morale and well-being.
00:35Such initiatives are to strengthen the physical well-being, mental wellness,
00:40and social connections of internally displaced persons
00:44while they are adjusting to their temporary homes inside evacuation centers.
00:49According to Claudian Marquez,
00:51led by the Disaster Response Information Management Section of DSWD-6,
00:56psychosocial activities in evacuation centers in Negros Occidental
01:00are part of the daily activities of IDPs.
01:03Meanwhile, in the visit of DSWD-6 Regional Director Irwin Raso in Bagos City,
01:08evacuees were divided into their groups.
01:12Child Development Workers and CSWDO Bagos City
01:15are conducting storytelling and creative art sessions
01:18to support the emotional well-being of the children.
