00:40or the Prevention of Adolescent Pregnancy Act of 2023.

00:44It is stated in the letter that was sent to Senate President Francis Escudero

00:48that according to the comments and concerns about the bill, they are asking for a return of their signatures.

00:53The senators also stated that the prevention of adolescent pregnancy is an issue that needs to be addressed immediately.

01:00Some of those who withdrew their signatures are Senators JV Ejercito, Sinchavillar, Nancy Binay, and Bongo.

01:06Many are calling for a further review before we pass the bill.

01:10Of course, we heard the clamor of our fellow citizens.

01:14Even the President raised certain issues against the bill.

01:20The bill has not yet reached the President.

01:23He has a pronouncement that he will veto.

01:25So why would we produce a committee report when we already know that the President will veto it?

01:32Senator Sinchavillar said that he recognizes the valid concerns in the bill.

01:37These concerns are valid and remind senators to be sensitive and careful in their work in the legislature.

01:45Another person who withdrew from the bill is Senate President Pro Tempore Gingoy Estrada.

01:50It is stated that it is based on international standards.

03:17But Senator Aimee Marcos thinks that it is not yet time to withdraw from the bill.

03:28It is clear that it should be included in our culture and the age of the child.

03:36Meanwhile, Audrey Bago-Jomere, Senator Loren Legarda also withdrew her signature from the committee report of Senate Bill 1979.
