00:00Like Mary Grace Piatos, more than 1,000 individuals who were listed and received confidential funds from the Office of the Vice President
00:11were found to have no birth records in the country.
00:15This is based on a letter sent by the Philippine Statistics Authority from their study
00:21to the 1,992 House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability
00:29who were found to have received OVP funds.
00:33According to the PSA, two-thirds or more than half of these individuals have no records.
00:39However, there are some individuals whose birth, marriage, and death records match their data.
00:47According to Good Government Panel Chair Joel Chua,
00:50if the names of the confidential funds recipients are not seen in the Civil Registry,
00:55there is a high possibility that they are not real people and that the OVP just happened to look at their acknowledgment receipts.
01:04What is more important is the question of where the money went
01:09and that is also what the committee is currently investigating.
01:12Under the OVP, Vice President Sara Duterte firstly denied the camera recordings
