00:00All right, I'm joined by Akeem Lallemand, newest Warrnambool Seahawks recruit.
00:05Akeem, how are you finding Warrnambool?
00:06I'm excited to be here.
00:08I've read a lot about it.
00:10I've been to a couple games and just seen the community.
00:12And I think it's a really big deal for me to be here and
00:15I'm just excited to show what I can bring to the table.
00:18And you said it was a bit of a perfect fit, this club for you?
00:20Yeah, no, definitely.
00:22I think early on I hit it off with Jack Huxtable, who's no longer with us.
00:26But just being able to meet everybody through him and
00:28get introduced to the community.
00:29Louise has been awesome, Shane's been awesome.
00:31I feel like everybody, Paul's been awesome.
00:34I feel like we've all hit it off on the same page and the right base.
00:37And what can we expect from you on the court this year?
00:40I think big plays and smart plays.
00:41I think I wanna play fun basketball, fast basketball.
00:45But I also have been able to watch the guys and they're very crafty,
00:48they're tough guys.
00:49And I think that match, like I said, match made in heaven.
00:52I think there's gonna be some fun plays that come out of that.
00:55And a championship would be nice too?
00:57Yeah, yeah, that's the goal.
00:58I'm not scared to admit it.
00:59I think this is a year that I wanna make that stamp and
01:03help Warrnambool make that stamp.
01:04I know it's a club that's used to good basketball and a good brand of it.
01:07And I know what they wanna see.
01:09So I'm right there with them and I'm gonna do everything I can to make it happen.
01:13And you've got a bit of an advantage in that you've been playing basketball in
01:15Australia for the past three years with Wollin, do you reckon that'll help?
01:18Yeah, it's been a blessing.
01:19Wollin's been a great club to me, they looked after me well.
01:21And I think they, in a way, prepared me for this.
01:24And not to say that Wollin hasn't played at a high level.
01:28This is a bit of a step up, but being able to get tougher over there and
01:31learn the game, it'll definitely help me adjust at a quicker pace.
01:35And your partner as well,
01:36your partner who you've got a young daughter with, she's from out this way as well?
01:39Yeah, my partner Riley's out here with me and our beautiful daughter Maya.
01:42And we're excited, she's about to turn one.
01:45And I think what better place to celebrate that than over here where we're
01:49closer to family, we're at a club that loves us and we love them back.
