00:00I'm joined by Gus and Bentley Carroll. Guys, you're raising money for a good cause with the bike rides of Aljura from Camperdown.
00:07Do you want to tell me a little bit about it?
00:09Well, we'll be planning to ride 50km's a day, taking us roughly 11 days with the rest of the day in the middle.
00:18And what was the reason behind it and what are you doing it for?
00:21Um, because of our school receptionist Amy, she lost her son to a rain storm in 2021 and he was only 19.
00:31And how much, do you have a goal in mind, raising money?
00:34Um, we did have a goal of $5000 and we just got over that and our ride hasn't even started so we're going to bump it up to $10,000.
00:43Hey Gus, hey boy. And you're looking forward to doing it with him too?
00:47Absolutely, I think he's going to be a good father son. I'm anxiously looking forward to it, but yeah, really looking forward to getting on the road.
00:55Hopefully the weather will look after us a little bit. But yeah, it should be good, he's doing really well.
01:00Hopefully we can hit that $10,000 target now that we've upped it a little bit.
01:04So yeah, I think our training's in the right place and we're at the right time, so fingers crossed it all goes well.
01:11And you must be proud of him, he's only 12 coming to you with an idea like this.
01:14Yeah, absolutely. We did a smaller ride last year and I think we had two weeks to fundraise for that and we still managed to raise $1600.
01:23So we went a little bit bigger and a little bit better this time.
01:27And yeah, probably an extra $500 odd case scared me a bit initially, but we both put our minds to it and said we could do it.
01:35And it's always good to step outside the comfort zone, so we thought why not, it's for a good cause.
01:40There's a lot of people out there that wish they could ride their push bikes, the ones that can't, this is who we're doing it for.
01:45So we'll go through a little bit of up and down on it I'm sure, and we'll probably swear and carry on a little bit at each other.
01:51But that's alright, what happens on the road stays on the road, it's all for a good cause.
