00:0027 games between now and the trade deadline, and you can tell that people are already talking
00:06inside the league.
00:07And that's one thing, Anthony, here's how I'm going to start this segment, too.
00:11Anthony Slater was on with the morning show and was just asked, you know, why are we hearing
00:18so much right now about not only Jonathan Cominga, but so many players that may or may
00:24not be available?
00:25This is like information season right now for the Warriors on Jonathan Cominga, and
00:29not just for the Warriors, it's for Cominga to find out who he is in the league.
00:33The Warriors need to find out the league needs to find out he has a contract situation coming
00:37up.
00:38The trade market's going to develop.
00:39And, you know, you might even argue it's not, I think most people would argue they've waited
00:44too long to find out more about Jonathan Cominga.
00:46But I think Steph Curry, Andre Amon Green want to know for several reasons, can he be,
00:51you know, all the way up to the playoff level, like the type of number two score that they're
00:56going to need to compete in the first or second round, third round?
00:59Or, you know, is it is it wiser for him to maybe go explore that elsewhere?
01:03And could he potentially be a trade piece of the deadline?
01:05I think we're we are going to find out more over the next couple of months, partly because
01:09they finally, you know, let off the brake pedal a little bit and they're going to allow
01:13us to all find out more about it.
01:14All right.
01:15So that was Anthony Slater with the morning roast.
01:19And you know, the one thing that that Evan and I talked a little bit about yesterday
01:23and and I mean, I don't know if we're downplaying it or not, but there's there's something just
01:30fascinating about the Warriors, let's say a week ago where they just pretty much came
01:38out and announced, hey, and you know what, I was I told Evan, you should get a victory
01:42lap for this because I think it was last Wednesday where you were just saying Jonathan Cominga,
01:48I give him 30 a night, 30 minutes a night, plain and simple.
01:52Every night you got to give a 33 point game.
01:54And exactly.
01:55And the funny thing is, is it was either the next day or the following day where the Warriors
02:00basically said, we got to give Cominga more time, plain and simple.
02:04We're going to we're going to make sure that he plays a lot of time, you know, gets a lot
02:09of minutes each and every game, certainly more than he's gotten up until this point.
02:14And I just always I just find it curious that they would do that with and kind of make it
02:20that public.
02:21I mean, they could have done it and just gotten asked about it three or four games later.
02:25Hey, Cominga is taking a bigger role.
02:27And Kirk could have said, yeah, we were we've been talking about that and we felt like it
02:30was time.
02:31And, you know, a week or so ago, we just decided that, you know, we got to give a bigger role
02:36to this kid.
02:37But instead, before it ever happened, they were saying, it's Jonathan Cominga time.
02:41And my first thought was, why, why are you doing it now?
02:45And the more I think about it, you can't deny that.
02:48I think one of the reasons they're doing it is because they probably do want to gauge
02:54his value around the league.
02:55And if he's playing 30 minutes a night, more teams are going to have an opinion on Jonathan
02:59Cominga.
03:00No doubt about it.
03:01And, you know, I said that's Donnie and I feel it, but it's just kind of weird.
03:06It's awkward.
03:07Right.
03:08I'm a fan of first.
03:10So we saw Kerr come down pods his road.
03:15Then we saw the good in regard to coming down Cominga's road.
03:19And normally I would tell Cominga and his family or his close friends celebrate that
03:25celebrate the Draymond's doing that.
03:27And I don't want to say there's no hidden agendas or rats on the table, but that was
03:31odd.
03:32Stani was odd that all of a sudden you guys have had all summer his whole career.
03:38And then after a said good game, we're going to commit like, it's almost like not a booby
03:44trap, Stani.
03:45But it's like all Cominga can do is control what he's going to do nightly, right?
03:49Go out and ball.
03:51But it's funny because that didn't come off.
03:54We're going to marry Stani off a four for 15 night and three turnovers Friday night.
03:59It's been a it came after you would think everybody's feeling good about J.K. and I'm
04:05with Slater 100 percent, Stani.
04:08I feel like the basketball savants that are Drey, Steph, Dunleavy, Kirk, Lacob, and Kerr,
04:16you already know what Cominga can.
04:19You should be able to know and foresee what he can do and what he can't, what he needs
04:24to work on.
04:25And that's why I just get I don't know what the feeling is of he's almost on a tryout.
04:31So if he goes on a bender for the next 12 days, that solidifies his future in Golden
04:36State.
04:37Or maybe somewhere else.
04:38Facts.
04:39You know, go ahead.
04:40There's so much footage for the people somewhere else, Stani, about who he is.
04:47You got him starting when Drey wasn't around.
04:49And I guess that's where I'm just having a problem with.
04:53I'm not mad at it, but you really have you.
04:57There's not enough video to go check out this dude.
05:00Well, that's all.
05:01Well, I'll tell you right now.
05:03I mean, that's where I'm at.
05:04The Warriors, they may know exactly what they think they have in Cominga, but that's not
05:08the issue is they want they want the league to see what he can do.
05:12And I don't think there's any doubt that if you got tape of the last three games and I
05:18get it, he didn't play well Friday against Minnesota.
05:21That's that good tape.
05:22But if you.
05:23Yes, that's the tape on Jonathan Cominga against the Houston Rockets and game two against the
05:30Minnesota Timberwolves, that player does not my, you know, the lineup that I wanted
05:35and I didn't want to hear too much about Wiggins and and J.K.
05:41Canceling each other out.
05:42Stani, they started with both them in the lineup and they probably will tonight if Wiggins
05:45is healthy.
05:46Draymond, I would assume, is going to come off the bench tonight, which is the lineup
05:50that they said they were going to try if they were relatively healthy.
05:54So we'll we'll find out what happens tonight.
05:55But eight, eight, eight, nine, five, seven, nine, five, seven zeros a number.
06:00Let's go to Antoine.
06:01Antoine's in Nashville.
06:02What's up, Antoine?
06:03How you doing, man?
06:04I'm doing good.
06:05How are you guys?
06:06How are y'all?
06:07Doing well.
06:08Good, good.
06:09Hey, man.
06:10Look, I watched the Anthony Slater interview a little bit earlier and he mentioned one
06:11thing that I thought that we're not talking about at all.
06:12I mean, everybody wants to get rid of Andrew Wiggins.
06:13They want to get rid of Jonathan Cominga.
06:14And I myself was not super proud of Jonathan Cominga.
06:15But I think there's a lot of smaller trades that we could do that can enhance the team
06:16for the better.
06:17And two people.
06:18One is Dennis Schroeder.
06:19But then the other is Miles Turner.
06:20Miles Turner is up for an extension next year.
06:21He's making 19 million a year.
06:22We've got all these extra guys that are, you know, pretty much role players or more
06:23so just like a bunch of dying contracts.
06:24So why not?
06:25Why not?
06:26Why not?
06:27Why not?
06:28Why not?
06:29Why not?

06:40Why not?
06:41Why not?
06:42Why not?
06:43Why not?
06:44Why not?
06:45Why not?
06:46Why not?
06:47Why not?
06:48Why not?
06:49Why not?
06:50Why not?
06:51Why not?
06:52Why not?
06:53Why not?
06:54Why not?
06:55Why not?
06:56Why not?
06:57Why not?

07:09Why not?
07:10Why not?
07:11Why not?
07:12Why not?
07:13Why not?
07:14Why not?
07:15Why not?
07:16Why not?
07:17Why not?
07:18Why not?
07:19Why not?
07:20Why not?
07:21Why not?
07:22Why not?
07:23Why not?
07:24Why not?
07:25Why not?
07:26Why not?
07:27Why not?
07:28Why not?
07:29Why not?
07:30Why not?
07:31Why not?
07:32Why not?
07:33Why not?
07:34Why not?
07:35Why not?
07:36Why not?
07:37Why not?
07:38Why not?
07:39Why not?
07:40Why not?
07:41Why not?
07:42Why not?
07:43Why not?
07:44Why not?
07:45Why not?
07:46Why not?
07:47Why not?
07:48Why not?
07:49Why not?
07:50And why not?
07:51Why not?
07:52So here...
07:53So here's what he told me.
07:54He said, you know, we got the package, the mandate, we got the one million dollars signed.
07:58We got the move immediately.
07:59We got to put on a second ticket to get to Brazil.
08:03As soon as you do that...
08:04That's when you get to meet the guys.
08:06Right.
08:07And you look at their shirts, right.
08:10Right.
08:11They're not naked.
08:12Just take a look there.
08:13They were taking the cash.
08:14sub for Miles Turner.
08:15And the one thing Miles Turner can do, he can protect the rim, he's led the league in
08:20block shots twice, he gets you two blocks a game, which isn't bad.
08:26I don't really have an issue with Miles Turner, but I do feel like his name has absolutely
08:32come up a year or two ago, maybe last year, and I always felt like in the eyes of Warrior
08:38fans he wasn't quite good enough.
08:41And now it feels like maybe people have had to change a heart about him.
08:45And when was the last time, Stonnie, I was going to say Wiseman, crack of material, the
08:50last time Warriors had a center, they could get you some buckets that you could play through
08:54or be an option at the end of the game.
08:56But what I wanted to talk to you about was what you mentioned when you said the Warriors
09:00are 14-9, and they are, and they're fifth.
09:03But if you want to know how dire it is in the West and how thick it is, Stonnie, they're
09:08one game ahead of 10th.
09:11So you look at who's not in the playoffs right now, it's the Kings and the Pelicans, and
09:17I think the Pelicans might just be dead this year, right?
09:20But you expect something from Sac, but my point being is, Stonnie, as good as you feel
09:25right now, and I don't know how that is for Warrior fans at 14-9, I mean, the field is
09:30on your tail, so it is imperative that you try to get better if you can.
09:36And I know you scoffed and laughed at me yesterday when I talked about Miles Turner.
09:40Yeah, it was a short, excuse me, De'Anthony Melton, how they miss him, and it was a short
09:46sample size, but if you want to, say, turn it down a little bit, and if you could get
09:51a Schroeder, oh my God, Stonnie.
09:53Right, but are you going to give up an unprotected first?
09:56And that's, what do you think Steph would say to that?
10:00I think he would say, come on, Joe, but my point is, he would fit in perfectly, especially
10:08because I think he's better than Melton, if Melton was looking like he was going to take
10:12this team or give it just another dimension.
10:16I mean, man, the part I got to wonder about is, if you're trading for a player who's a
10:25nice, solid role player, is that good enough to give up a protected or an unprotected first
10:32round pick?
10:33If you go after Jimmy Butler, you're going to probably have to give up some unprotected.
10:38If you go after LeBron James, you're probably going to have to go give up some unprotected
10:44picks.
