00:00The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission is investigating the purported whistleblower

00:05who allegedly has information related to corrupt practices involving several Sabah assemblymen

00:10regarding prospecting license approvals.

00:12MACC chief Azlan Bakir said the purported whistleblower, despite providing a statement

00:17to the Anti-Graft Agency, has declined to submit the evidence in his possession.

00:22As for now, the person who claims to be the whistleblower, until today he refused to hand

00:31over whatever evidence that he has because he's still claiming a kind of protection

00:37for immunity.

00:39That one, especially again, we can't give him any protection as long as he divulge about

00:45what he has.

00:46Azlan said MACC has also recorded 15 statements, including from the eight assemblymen involved

00:51in the videos.

00:53Last month, NGO Gerakan Kwaseraya Malaysia filed a report with the MACC urging the agency

00:59to investigate a whistleblower who allegedly has information about corrupt practices involving

01:03several Sabah assemblymen regarding prospecting license approvals.

01:07Its chairman, Zulkarnain Mahdark, said the report was filed because the whistleblower

01:11failed to lodge an official complaint with the MACC and instead publicized his claims

01:16through a series of videos.
