00:00Yes guys, how's it going? I'm Henry Bright, a reporter for Sussex World, and I've just watched Brighton Over Albion lose 3-1 at Craven Cottage to Fulham.
00:08Now, in this game, I think one of the main factors was that three at the back that Fabian Hösler was trying to adopt into his side,
00:16trying to make a very attacking side for this fixture, and it just didn't work out really.
00:21Barbara Bruggen was caught short in the opening minutes of the game, where he passed it to Owobi, who was able to score really easily.
00:28And from there, it was an uphill battle for the Albion, and Fulham were really in this game, really causing a lot of problems for the Albion.
00:37But in the second half, Carlos BolÃvar was able to make it 1-1 with a beautiful strike into the bottom corner.
00:44Lovely bit of link-up play with Van Gek crossing the ball to João Pedro, who gave it a little one-touch,
00:50and gave it to Carlos BolÃvar, who was able to rifle it into the back of the net.
00:55And at that point, the Albion fans were going crazy. The atmosphere was really booming here,
01:00and I've got to say, it did look like Brighton were going to get the victory.
01:04But then, out of nowhere, there was a really unlucky own goal, and it was the new signing, Matt O'Reilly,
01:12who was the hero only a few games ago against Manchester City, who scored an own goal.
01:18It sort of came off of him during a corner, and that was 2-1.
01:21As soon as that happened, Brighton heads dropped, and then too much time at the edge of the box,
01:26sort of in that last 90 minutes, allowed Alexander Aouobi to get yet another goal.
01:31And at the end of the match, it ended 3-1, and Brighton fans will be feeling really gutted to not get a victory over Fulham.
01:37Now, in nine Premier League games, they haven't been able to get a win over Fulham.
01:41So, another frustrating one for Brighton, following on from that 1-1 draw that they got to Southampton,
01:47and all to play for against Leicester on the weekend.
01:51I've been Henry Bryant, and I spoke to Fabian Herzler after the game,
01:54and this is what he said about the back three, and also Carlos Bolivar's performance.
01:59One player that did shine for Brighton tonight was Carlos Bolivar.
02:03How impressed are you? He keeps on growing in confidence, and a lovely finish tonight, obviously.
02:07It wasn't the result we wanted, but it was a good performance from him.
02:13I'm not the biggest fan to talk about individual performances, even when we lose,
02:18because in the end, of course, there are some positive things.
02:23But Carlos, like I said, there's a big hype about him at the moment.
02:27It's absolutely justified. Now it's important that he stays grounded, stays humble, keeps working.
02:33He's doing a great job so far. I think in some moments he can also improve.
02:37He can still have a big impact on our game, and there we try to help him.
02:41But so far, of course, we are happy with him.
02:43Three at the back for this game, first few minutes,
02:48spells of Brighton looking good, and then that mistake happens.
02:52Do you think that that formation doesn't help in terms of those mistakes,
02:56where a lot of pressure is coming on the players early in the game,
03:00and then it's an uphill battle for them to climb back in and get a result?
03:06Is it difficult to answer this question?
03:09This question is difficult to answer because, honestly,
03:14I don't see that the goal we concede happens because of back three.
03:19And we created a lot of chances with back three.
03:22And when we changed back to back four, we didn't create that many chances like we created for back three.
03:27So, in the end, we missed to finish the attack,
03:35in the end, we missed to make the goals in the right moment.
03:38That's what Fulham did today. They didn't have any chance.
03:42So, honestly, they shoot goals out of nowhere.
03:46And you can't say that it's because of back three.
03:48I would even say the opposite.
03:49I think we defend quite good because of the back three.
03:53So, there were a lot of positive things.
03:56And also in possession, a lot of positive things with the back three.
04:01It's good to know that the players can adapt quickly to change the formation.
04:06And this will give us flexibility for the next games.
