00:00Hello, I'm Sam Morton. I'm joined by Henry Bryant from the reporters for Sussex World.
00:04We've just watched Brighton lose 3-2 to Liverpool in an entertaining Carabao Cup match,
00:08which Liverpool probably deservedly won. I think Brighton obviously could have staged a comeback
00:12on another day and they obviously put a really battling display towards the end but just ran out
00:17of time. So how would you sum that one up Henry? Well I think that Brighton played really well in
00:22that first half to be honest with you. I think they had a few opportunities to actually get
00:27themselves in front. Tyrone Clampsey with a really good opportunity in the 13th minute which
00:32looked to be a really promising chance. 0-0 in that first half and then Cody Gakpo's brace
00:38I should say really did put a bit of a damper on the occasion and it was pretty hard for Brighton
00:45to regain any energy but they did get a good opportunity and good goal and it was Evan
00:52Ferguson's shot that was rebounded for Odingra to score and halved the deficit at 2-1 but
00:58unfortunately there was another goal in the game. Yeah it was a bit of a sucker
01:04plancher wasn't it? You think Brighton could have got that 2-2, Luis Diaz goes up the other end,
01:07some poor defending and you feel like it kind of kills the game at that point but Brighton come
01:11again and they obviously get that second goal and you feel like it could be a 3-2 but just ran
01:16out of time didn't they? I mean obviously that was a nice kind of highlight to get those two goals.
01:21I think so, I think that on another day if Liverpool weren't as sprightly and didn't play
01:27as well as they did, as they were really well drilled, I think that Brighton would have had
01:31a different sort of game we would have been talking about, maybe a different sort of result.
01:35I think that Matt Swiffer obviously he didn't have the best game. He was a bit lacking in confidence
01:40wasn't he at the moment? I think he obviously had that big error the other day against Wolves and
01:44you still feel like he's probably just starting to settle into the club and the error the other
01:47day didn't help him. Just hopefully it improves as time goes on I guess. Absolutely, I think that
01:52for the third goal he wasn't strong enough to sort of halt the Liverpool attacks and it sort
01:59of did look a little bit like a training ground goal where people were looking up in the air as
02:02the ball went really high and it just did seem like a really sloppy goal and in hindsight that
02:08could have been all the difference today. But look I think one positive would have to be
02:13Brian Gruder. He's only had 20 minutes in Premier League football action. He's played here on his
02:19first start in the Caramel Cup and he's performing really well showing that already at a young age
02:25this midfielder can battle it out against some of the most world-class teams. I'm really looking
02:30forward to seeing what he does. Brilliant, thank you so much Sir Henry and stay tuned
