00:00Jürgen, given the changes you made to the team,
00:04are you pleased with the way they saw out to what was a difficult game?
00:09Yeah, if you have to come up here, you know it's going to be a difficult game
00:13because of the style of play, because of the recruitment they had here over the last few years.
00:18And then to get away here with a result, with a win,
00:23is of course very pleasing for the long term.
00:26I really liked what I see from players that haven't played that much this season yet,
00:31that they were able to play the similar style that we usually do,
00:36and they brought quality into the game,
00:40so that makes it even harder for me to make line-ups in the upcoming weeks.
00:45I mean, Kody's been in a good moment for quite a while now, hasn't he?
00:48Yeah, but I think Kody has been, in my opinion though,
00:53for I think the second half of the season last year he's scored a lot of goals already,
00:57so he's been a good player for Liverpool for a long time now,
01:00and he continues doing that, and that's a good thing.
01:05Just on Kody, how close is he to being a regular starter after you've been one of your first-choice players?
01:11Does it help his performance?
01:14Yeah, for me he is a regular starter.
01:18He's not starting every game, but he started on a regular basis.
01:23He's in a tough competition with Lucio Diaz,
01:28who the moment he went to the left also scored a goal,
01:32so that's normal if you play at a club like Liverpool,
01:34you've got two quality players for many positions.
01:38If you look at the way Joe Gomez played, and also Gerard Kwanzaa,
01:41who was maybe a bit unlucky with the goal we conceded,
01:43but his overall performance from the both of them I liked as well.
01:47But yeah, they're in competition with Virgil and Ibu.
01:51Yeah, that's what you have when you play at Liverpool,
01:53but for me Kody has been a regular starter this season.
01:56You've got an amazing away record so far in England,
02:00is there any one game that you've won all the other ones,
02:03and what do you put that down to?
02:05Yeah, a bit of everything, so maybe in some situations the fixture list,
02:09in some situations it's just the quality of the players we can put on the team sheet.
02:17And I think it's also our playing style that helps us,
02:20but, yeah, and then it's only been 14 games, something like this.
02:28But it's been a very good start away from home, but also at home,
02:32and we need a good form on Saturday as well, because we came here knowing it was a good team,
02:38and that's also what they've shown today,
02:41so we need to be on top of our game for Saturday again.
02:44Whenever you've been asked about the goal-giving department,
02:46you always sort of mention Yaros as part of that three,
02:50you made some really big key saves at key moments today,
02:54how did you feel about his performance, but with the ball at his feet as well?
02:58Yeah, I like the last thing you say, because everybody could see how important his saves were.
03:03I think the first big chance of the game was for them, where he saved a one-versus-one,
03:09and in the second half, of course, we all remember one or two saves he made as well.
03:13But you also added to that how comfortable he was with the ball on his foot,
03:17making the right choices, when to go short, when to clip the ball long towards the striker,
03:22and it helped also for him the quality Gerard Kwanzaa and Joe Coman brought in build-up,
03:27so I liked that triangle today a lot in ball possession.
03:34Jürgen, what was it like managing the minutes of the play today?
03:38What were the attacks you had at the back of the game?
03:40You were bringing in a striker as well, so did you want to see what you were hoping to see?
03:43As far as Jones and David today, did you think they did what they missed?
03:50Yeah, I think they did.
03:53It is always, if you play those two without a nine,
03:57you're always a bit worried if you have enough runs in behind the last line,
04:01because these two also like to play into the midfield and to make combinations over there,
04:05to make triangles over there.
04:08But I think what they did really well was combining,
04:12trying to become an extra player on the midfield,
04:14but don't forget to make the deep runs as well.
04:17And it helped that Luis Diaz and Cody Kakpo were a constant threat in behind also.
04:23In general, I liked what I saw. I prefer to play with a number nine,
04:29but if they are not available, and of course we are now available,
04:32but I think it was not good for him to start today after playing three games
04:38and the upcoming schedule, then this was the result of what we tried to come up with.
04:45And the players did really well, in my opinion.
