00:00Good morning and welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. Another cool and
00:05bright start to the day but it is all change as we head through this afternoon. So we do
00:09have this strong westerly jet stream pushing an area of low pressure across the UK through
00:14Wednesday afternoon and then we do see a further frontal system pushed on this strong westerly
00:18jet as we head through Thursday. This is setting up for quite an unsettled end to the week
00:23with further frontal systems pushing through. But back to this morning, so again a fairly
00:27bright start to the day but there is a yellow ice warning in force for parts of Scotland
00:31through this morning. Elsewhere fairly hazy sunshine around but a largely fine day ahead
00:36of this frontal system pushing into parts of Northern Ireland and North West Scotland
00:40as we head into the early part of the afternoon. Winds strengthening here and it will be turning
00:45generally quite cloudy and blustery. With those winds and those higher temperatures
00:51with that southerly flow we start to see some milder air moving in so temperatures a touch
00:54higher at 10 or 12 degrees across the far south west but it will still be fairly cool
00:58down the east coast still holding on to single figures and still feeling fairly cool and
01:02crisp here. Heading through the rest of the afternoon then so that frontal system steadily
01:07moving eastwards as we head through the later part of the afternoon and evening. We do have
01:11a yellow wind warning in force for parts of North West and Northern Scotland and later
01:15on when that frontal system clears through further blustery showers moving through here
01:19as well. Temperatures will be noticeably milder particularly across Scotland up into the mid
01:24single figures and less in the way of widespread frost. Certainly milder across the south west
01:2910 or 12 degrees to start the day and it will be a fairly damp and cool start to the day
01:33across the far south east of England. It will be a damp start to the day certainly for south
01:38east and England and it will be a fairly miserable rush hour with that rain and that wind. There
01:43will be a brief interlude of some drier conditions but fairly breezy through Thursday but it
01:47won't be long before further showers and heavy rain move in from the west. Temperatures noticeably
01:52milder so around 10 or 11 degrees across the northern half of the country 13 or possibly
01:5614 across the far south. Heading through Thursday evening that will slowly start to move away
02:03but we do have further frontal systems arriving from Friday into Saturday. A little bit of
02:07uncertainty on this so if you do want to keep ahead of this weekend's weather do have a
02:11look at our YouTube channel.
