00:00Morning. Welcome to a very mild weekend. Don't expect huge amounts of sunshine,
00:05quite cloudy across the UK today, but by this afternoon temperatures up widely to
00:1012 to 13, 14 degrees Celsius and where we do see a bit of sunshine, well
00:14temperatures could be a degree or so higher. Why so mild? Well, look at where
00:18the winds are coming from. Up from the south, wafting up that milder air. The
00:22wind's still quite gusty in places, particularly around western coasts and
00:25will strengthen further tonight across the northwest of Scotland. But back
00:29to the rest of Saturday and as I said, a lot of cloud around. With the winds coming up
00:33from the south, it's to the north and east of hills where we'll see some
00:37breaks in the clouds. So parts of northeast Wales, northwest England may
00:40see some sunshine. To the east of the Pennines we should see a bit of blue sky at
00:43times and also northeastern parts of Scotland. It may well brighten up at
00:47times across the south, but generally expect cloudy skies. Not a huge amount of
00:52rain either. A few showers here and there, particularly where we've got the thickest
00:55cloud across the west and we'll see some showery rain at times crossing
00:58Scotland. It will still be quite breezy, but as we go through the night those
01:02winds are going to strengthen further. You can see the swirl here. That's an
01:05area of low pressure getting very blustery once more across the western
01:08isles of Scotland, generally along the west coast. The zones of rain will move in as
01:12we go through the night as well. With all that cloud around, the mild air in place,
01:16temperatures are not going to drop very far. Double digits as we start Sunday,
01:22which is of course the start of meteorological winter. Temperatures are more akin to a
01:27spring day though, however. So yes, a mild start, but it will be a wet start.
01:31Outbreaks of rain crossing Wales, western England, southern Scotland. That will tend
01:35to fizzle out as it works its way eastwards, so no more than a few showers
01:38across eastern parts of England. Then something brighter before another band
01:41of showery rain coming in also. So yeah, a bit more rain around tomorrow compared
01:46to today, but again it's unlikely to rain all day and we'll see some brighter
01:51spells coming through. Still got the winds mostly bringing that warmer air up,
01:55perhaps temperatures a degree or so down, but with a bit of brightness we'll still
01:58likely see those temperatures climbing into the teens. So still very mild for the
02:03first day of December. Notice however the winds starting to come down from the
02:08north across the far north and that is a sign of a change. This rain across the
02:13southeast on Sunday evening from a weather front that is going to continue
02:17to drift away. Low pressure heading up towards the far northeast and behind
02:22that the winds are coming down from the north. That's where the cold air is and
02:26that will push its way southwards as we go through Sunday night and into Monday.
02:30So after a very mild weekend the colder air will return. It could be a bit of an
02:35icy start on Monday morning across parts of northern Scotland. So do keep up to
02:40date with the forecast as we go through this weekend. Best way to do that of
