Liverpool’s adaptation to new boss Arne Slot has so far been almost perfect.
With the manager being welcomed to the club with open arms, what could he want from the January transfer market and are the club willing to back him to hopefully get them over the line in the title race.

00:00So, well, looking at Liverpool and ahead to January now, it's obviously a big window.
00:07Liverpool, they're famous, they had that massive window in January a couple of seasons ago.
00:13Looking forward, what do they sort of need from January? Because so far this season they've
00:18sort of made a real impact on the league and in Europe as well. So, it's hard to sort of
00:24add to a side where you can't really see, you know, a clear area that needs improving.
00:30It is, but I think maybe that's been the complaint from Liverpool fans in the past.
00:38For example, you know, when they won the Champions League, when they won the league,
00:41Liverpool didn't really strengthen the squads. And is this a moment to capitalise now?
00:47You know, at the minute, you know, top of the league, five points ahead of Man City,
00:52that could go to eight if they win that game at Anfield next month.
00:57And you're looking at it thinking, we can't let this position slip.
01:00So, do we go out and get a couple of more bodies in to bolster the squads?
01:06I mean, the one position you're probably looking at, obviously, is central midfield.
01:10Of course, you know, as I said before, Arnaut Slot clearly showed his hands by looking to
01:16Simon and Zoupermendie in the summer, he didn't get that one over the line.
01:19I don't think that one has ever gone away. I would like to think that if a deal could be done,
01:26then Liverpool would be in position to go and swoop Zoupermendie because, you know,
01:33they were willing to pay the money in the summer and the midfielder has a release clause.
01:37So that's something you could maybe look at doing.
01:41And obviously, maybe look to getting a centre back in.
01:44Lenny Ioro was one that they put the fields out for, but didn't think he was worth the wages.
01:49So maybe if he's a central defender, you're looking at that.
01:53I think a lot of supporters wouldn't be averse to getting in a new left back if it was the right player.
01:59Andy Robertson and Costa Simacast have split the position so far this season,
02:03very much being number two for the previous four seasons under Jürgen Klopp.
02:10He's made good improvements, but Robertson's 30, Simacast's 28.
02:14Is he ever realistically going to be first choice? No.
02:18What happens beforehand? So an up-and-coming left back potentially is something that fans would like to see.
02:29The boy at Bournemouth, Kerkes, is one who's been linked.
02:34Richard Hughes, Liverpool sporting director, signs him when he was at Bournemouth as their technical director.
02:39So clearly there's a link there.
02:41So I don't think it'll be a mad January for Liverpool, but they've shown in the past, as you said,
02:48that they're willing to spend money.
02:49Virgil van Dijk, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakko, three signs that Liverpool are prepared to splash the cash if they think they're the right player.
