00:00Hello, I'm Sam Morton, reporter for Sussex World. I'm outside the Vitality Stadium, where Brighton have just beaten Bournemouth 2-1 in a really entertaining game in the Premier League.
00:10I felt that Bournemouth were probably the better side for much of that first half, but it was Brighton that won it up at the break, thanks to João Pedro's fourth-minute goal, brilliant finish after a lovely team move.
00:22He felt that Bournemouth probably deserved to equalise on the chances they had, but they didn't take the chances, and Brighton held firm to take that lead into the break.
00:30It was a case of déjà vu, they started the second half really quickly with Brighton, and got that second goal with Matoma scoring a lovely goal from Pedro's pass.
00:39So that's four goals in contributions for Pedro now, since he's returned to the side. You can really see how much of a difference he makes, and how clinical Brighton were today.
00:48Bournemouth did respond well again, and you felt a turning point was going to come when Carlos Baleiba was sent off for a second vocable offence.
00:55It was a harsh second yellow, but with half an hour to play, you felt that Brighton might struggle to hold on to their lead, especially against a Bournemouth team that were looking really threatening.
01:05But they managed to hold on right until the 93rd minute, when David Brooks fired in what proved to be a consolation goal, but it could have been the start of a comeback.
01:15Because Bournemouth did have chances, and they did strike the crossbar very late on.
01:20Brighton managed to hold on for a really valuable three points, which keeps them fifth in the table, and level on point with fourth and third place Arsenal and Chelsea.
01:29So a really important win, and it keeps that hunt going for another European place that fans were chanting for during the game.
01:37So you never know, but it's been a really good start for Fabian Hertzler.
