00:00To the New York now to where we have the unique view of firefighting efforts as crews continue
00:07to battle the Jennings Creek fire. Bri, a video shows a helicopter crew member refilling water
00:13to dump on the wildfire which has burned over 5,300 acres. With the size of the wildfire,
00:18firefighters from across the country have actually come to New York and New Jersey to help,
00:21including some from Montana. We've been kind of comparing it to like a grass fire that we
00:28have back home. You add the wind factor, you're going to get a lot of wind, our fire activity
00:33with the wind. Kind of the same here with the leaf litter. Kind of that's how we're
00:38applying our tactics from back home to here. Just treating it like a grass fire.
00:45You know, once the wind quits, the fire seems to quit. Pretty interesting stuff. So as opposed
00:50to northeastern firefighters for wildland crews heading west for maybe a 50 or 100,000 acre
00:55wildfire, western firefighters coming to the northeast to fight a 5,000 plus acre wildfire.
01:01Hey, the water's been really low. Here we have the Delaware River in Stockton, New Jersey. Look at
01:05this, we're lurking down near low water levels. We have very, very low flow on the Delaware River
01:12upstream of Trenton, but there's some rain on the way. Cooler air for a lot of us in the northeast.
01:17That's some, again, widespread cool, but we also have, look at ahead, look at this, a winter storm
01:24watch for one sliver of a county in Virginia, western Garrett County, Maryland, and a big chunk
01:29of eastern West Virginia. Winter storm watch in effect. It's almost that time, and this is going
01:34to begin as rain in these areas on Tuesday night and Wednesday, but watch how this plays out here.
01:40Here comes a welcome surge of rain. Tuesday, 4 p.m., showers through the spine of the mountains,
01:45warm enough for rain, not yet reaching the Jennings Creek fire until some scattered showers
01:49roll in on Tuesday night, but the better hope for rain is actually going to come later in the week.
01:53Here we have another surge of moisture on Wednesday, initially still rain, and then the
01:58rain's going to increase Wednesday night into Thursday, so we'll be watching this system
02:02produce some showers in more of the interior northeast with very limited rain for the New
02:07York, Philadelphia, Boston metro with the first two surges, but overall, a coastal low pressure
02:13system will get going late Wednesday night into Thursday. Here comes some snow in the interior.
02:17Look at how temperatures tumble in Pittsburgh. We go from the 60s to the upper 30s on Thursday,
02:23much colder in the interior. Chilly air will follow into the northeast with some snowflakes Friday.
