00:00We're concerned that, you know, we recently had that winter storm impact, Atlanta, a couple of storms down the line.
00:06We expect to see more snow and ice in some parts, some parts of the south.
00:10Very complicated pattern here.
00:12We're going to try to break this down and make it a little more understandable and break it down storm by storm.
00:18This weekend, it's tough to characterize two storms with one map, but you can see there's snow in the interior.
00:23We've got rain in the southeast and a mixed zone.
00:25Well, if we get into breaking this down storm by storm, the first storm is going to bring drenching rain to the southeast,
00:32especially down and south of I-20 for the heaviest Friday night through Saturday into Saturday evening.
00:37This wave of low pressure moves up into the mid-Atlantic states, and it is going to take a track far enough north and west
00:44that it will bring rain to areas along the coast, along I-95, and into many areas east of the mountains.
00:51There will be some light snow, maybe a one- to three-inch event for many into the interior.
00:56It could be a mix with some ice down through the central Appalachians.
00:59That's storm number one. We're going to watch this play out here.
01:01Here's storm one. There's the rain Saturday morning into the south.
01:04We're going to watch this come up here with rain for I-95.
01:07Some of this may be offshore, some snow in the interior.
01:10Again, it's kind of fuzzy at this resolution with this version of future radar.
01:13Storm number two follows because the first storm is going to dump some colder air down.
01:18Once the colder air begins to filter in, that sets the table for the second storm to work with some colder air.
01:23And look at this. The night before the inauguration, we're dealing with snow in eastern Virginia, likely into the D.C. metro as well.
01:29This is gone before the inauguration itself, but the night before, a lot of travelers on Sunday.
01:34That's when we get into trouble with that.
01:36And then watch this. The next storm rolls south, Arctic air in place.
01:39Look at the snow in Houston, and it departs in Louisiana.
01:42Believe that or not, Tuesday evening, we may see that overspread much of the southeast.
01:47This version of future radar takes it south and squashes it.
01:50But there's even another storm behind that. That would be number four later next week.
01:55So again, some snow in the interior, Friday night, Saturday.
01:58Number two rolls in through the interior and parts of the D.C. metro Sunday night.
02:02And then we have the really cold air.
02:04Potential is present there for a widespread ice and snow event in parts of the south.
