00:00Now there is still some snow falling up into parts of northern New York State, mainly north of the Mohawk Valley.
00:06The bulk of Vermont and most of New Hampshire are facing snow, but keep in mind the population of New Hampshire is weighted pretty severely to the south,
00:14and that's where we do have that rain-snow line to a lot of the biggest cities in places like Manchester and Concord, New Hampshire.
00:19As we zoom in here, you can see we're split, with Concord holding onto snow for the moment, Manchester mainly rain.
00:26And in places like Maine, we're going to be dealing with snow at the onset.
00:29And then even places like Portland will see some mix of different types of precipitation, a little bit of sleet, and then eventually some rain winds out.
00:36There's some footage from our friend Lincoln Riddle up in the Adirondacks this morning,
00:40and you can see some showers that linger into areas near the north side of Pittsburgh, up near North Allegheny,
00:46and areas like Butler, PA, Wexford, and so forth, seeing a little bit of that too, Cranberry Township, some showers.
00:52Let's take a look at some impressive western PA stats, and we're keeping that snowy storyline going here in Erie.
00:58We're getting a little hiatus from it, a little break right now, but around Wednesday we're back into it.
01:02We've had 54.8 inches of snow so far this season in Erie, this snow season, so beginning kind of in the autumn.
01:09And that's actually a record for most snow by this point on the calendar in Erie PA history, and the official records go back to the 1800s.
01:17So 54 inches of snow was in second place back in the year 2000.
01:221976, we had 50.5 inches.
01:24Now, if you go way back into the 20s, some of the snow records are a little bit spottier then, but for reliable records, this is it.
01:31We typically would have about 15 inches by now.
01:33Last year we only had 5.8.
01:35We ended the entire snow season last year with just barely over 2 feet of snow,
01:39so we've had more than twice the amount of snow that we had all last winter already in Erie PA.
01:45It's 3.30 in Portland right now, but tonight we can see behind storm system number one.
01:50It stays mild here for most of us in the Ohio Valley and into the East Coast here.
01:55So, Bree, we're getting ready for the second storm, and this one is going to eventually bring widespread precip to the area.
02:02Yeah, it's one after the other.
02:04It's a double whammy, Jeff.
02:06That's right.
02:07And in this weather sandwich, to say, we have a lot going on.
02:13We have some snow.
02:14We have heavy rain storms to the south.
02:16Also, we're going to be pumping in a warmer air out of the south as well.
02:20So, you'll see a brief warmup, and then we come crashing down again.
02:25So, a lot's going to happen here over the next few days.
02:28Let's start off Tuesday, going through Tuesday night.
02:31You'll even notice in New England we'll have that wintry mix.
02:35The further south, we're concerned about the storms.
02:38Some of those storms could turn strong.
02:40We do have a some risk out right now that extends from the Grange, Montgomery, Dauphin, Albany, and Panama City.
02:47So, you'll see a lot of the panhandle included in this.
02:50I-10 all the way through Mobile, but we're still tracking some heavier rain even through New Orleans and even further west.
02:58Isolated tornadoes, we're not going to rule those out, as well as damaging winds.
03:02We could see winds as high as 75 miles per hour with your accurate local storm max.
03:07Let's play this out for you, kind of get our bearings.
03:09We do still have the storms now, and I'm going to start off Tuesday morning.
03:15A little bit more spread out.
03:18We still have some juicy storms on the board.
03:21Things start to clump together essentially there by Tuesday afternoon around 2 p.m. Eastern.
03:27Atlanta getting doused with a lot of heavy rain.
03:31Montgomery, you'll feel some soaking rain as well.
03:34Not the end of things.
03:36While we're still talking about this cluster further north and east, we're going to start to see things ramp up back further south.
03:43Right in that zone through New Orleans, up through Mobile, Pensacola like we were pointing out earlier, and up Montgomery, Atlanta.
03:51We're going to see a wide swath of heavy rain just pounding these areas.
03:56Now, it does move quickly.
03:58This is Wednesday morning, but it doesn't move too quickly.
04:02We're still talking about this storm here by Wednesday.
04:05This time still spreading some of that heavier rain further east into the southeast, the Carolinas, Georgia, even Florida.
04:13But Florida, we're a little bit more isolated when it comes to the storms.
04:17We don't really see things move out of the area until late Wednesday, early Thursday.
