Kevin Thelwell has had a decent proportion of success and failures since he joined Everton in 2022. A lot has gone on behind the scenes regarding the takeover, with him and many others not having a clear image on their future, could he stay around at the club or are his days numbered?

00:00So, Will, let's just look at Everton and Kevin Falwell in particular, obviously the director
00:09of football of a number of clubs and organisations over his time, came back to the Premier League
00:15in 2022. Everton, a lot has changed since then, a lot has gone on, you know, whether
00:20it be with the struggling takeover and then finally getting the takeover as well. A few
00:26managers' changes since then as well. How do you sort of look back on his time at the
00:31club and do you feel there could be change when the owners come in? Obviously, only one
00:36year remaining on his contract as well. So, what do you sort of make of Kevin Falwell
00:41and the impact he's had at Everton?
00:43Well, it's an interesting one definitely because, you know, obviously Sean Dyche's position
00:49is going to come under scrutiny. He's out of contract at the end of the season and maybe
00:54the freeking group might look and move on there. I think, you know, that might happen.
01:03But the director of football one is a little bit different because Kevin Falwell, he's
01:11had difficult circumstances since he arrived at the club in February 2022. There hasn't
01:16a lot of money to spend. He's had to, I don't want to say wheel and deal as such, but it's
01:27been difficult, it's been a challenge. Has he ever been able to get his top targets over
01:31the line because of the lack of funds? And it's not just transfers that he's been focusing on,
01:37it's the academy, it's the infrastructure of the club as well, which, you know, sometimes
01:42goes unnoticed. But if you just look at the transfers, there have been some good ones,
01:47you know, Ilderman and Dye being one, he was obviously a target for a while and Amazoo
01:53Onana came in. Okay, maybe Everton didn't quite get the best out of him, but Everton made a
01:58significant profit out of him. And Timmy Raboon, who arrived in the summer, that looks like a good
02:05bit of business. Arnold Zanduma was a bit of a par player. Jesper Lindstrom started and he
02:13shows improvements, but there's some doubt, is he a Sean Dyche player? Is he someone who, you know,
02:20he will fit into a Sean Dyche team? But then that comes down to the fact that well,
02:24Everton maybe they couldn't get A, B and C, so they had to go and get someone else who they
02:29could get in to get bodies in. So it's definitely been difficult, I think, for Kevin Falwell.
02:37There are some supporters who would like Everton to move on and change things and go with a new
02:43director of football, but I think there's some who are looking at it thinking, well,
02:46maybe he deserves a chance, if there is going to be more money to spend, what can he do?
02:51So it's a decision for the free group to make,
02:54and I'm sure those discussions behind the scenes are already going on.
