Everton have had their worst start to a season in 66 years this time around. With a lot of off-field struggle still continuing for Sean Dyche’s side, they managed to return their first Premier League win of the season.
So, what does this do for confidence across Goodison as they will now look to kick on.

00:00Will Everton gathering their first Premier League win of the season, what's the main take and thoughts on the win as the dust has settled?
00:10The pressure was maybe starting to slightly grow on Sean Dyche. I think he still has some detractors among sections of supporters.
00:20But playing a Crystal Palace side who also haven't won this season, if Everton weren't beating a team like Crystal Palace you were probably looking and thinking where are the points going to come from?
00:34I actually think that Everton have played better this season than they did against Crystal Palace certainly in the first half.
00:41That performance against Bournemouth for those seven minutes was really good. It was just the final nine minutes of it.
00:48But they were poor in the first half. Everton went behind to mark a goal.
00:54Palace had the better of the play without really testing Jordan Pickford and Everton had a couple of chances in their own right.
01:01They come out in the second half and they were much better, much more intense.
01:06Dwight McNeil scored two fantastic goals. I mean the first one was a great hit so he picked it up in space.
01:12I think the second one was just as good to be honest with you.
01:16Because it gave Deed Henderson the Palace goal he has and it was a composed finish.
01:20From there Palace didn't threaten Everton. I can't remember Jordan Pickford making a save.
01:25Everton didn't create too much of their own.
01:29But overall it was a decent victory and now momentum is needed to be built.
01:35It's going to be difficult next time against Newcastle.
01:39But as you say, just to get that monkey off the back and having Jarrett Barnsley back was absolutely monumental.
01:48Everton conceded 14 goals about him.
01:53And the back line just looked so much more confident.
01:58James Sarkoz, his form nearly past the season had come into question but he was very much back to his best.
02:05It just gives that stability really and I think exudes confidence onto others.
02:12And Sean Dighton says after the game that there won't be any more scrutiny on Jarrett Barnsley from him.
02:18But I think there definitely will be from the outside world.
02:22Given his form last season and the interest from Man Utd in the summer.
02:27I think people will be looking at him as he gets on this week.
02:31But I think he's the sort of character who's quite composed, quite level-headed.
02:36He doesn't seem to be affected by that talk of a potential move away in the summer.
02:42Ultimately he'll know if he is going to go on to get a big money move in the future.
02:49He's got to keep his stance up and keep improving.
02:52But yeah, big win for Everton and now they've got to carry on that momentum against Newcastle.
