00:00In the name of sports, the Philippine Sports Commission will flag as a demonstration sport

00:05the various local games, which is called as Laro ng Lahi

00:09to the Filipino youth in Palawan.

00:12This is the story of Paulo Salamating.

00:17Aside from the goal of spreading the game to the public,

00:21the Philippine Sports Commission also wanted to introduce the local games to the youth

00:26in their program called as Laro ng Lahi

00:30where they plan to include it in the upcoming 2024 Filipino Youth Event this month

00:35in Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

00:37Just like this, this is the third leg of the Indigenous Peoples Games this year

00:42whose goal is to revive the local games, tradition, and culture of our people.

00:48In the presentation of PTV Sports, the Deputy Project Head of the Indigenous Peoples Games, Lito Cinco,

00:54emphasized the importance of organizing an event like this,

00:57especially for the youth who are not familiar with their culture.

01:02The IT community itself is still doing it.

01:06But when you talk of city-bred younger generation,

01:10that's what we should reach.

01:15The presentation was also given by the head of Laro ng Lahi

01:18and the Project Head of the Indigenous Peoples Games, Elias Samorin,

01:22about their background in organizing a program like this.

01:27They also invite our delegates from different LGUs of the Filipino youth.

01:32Other players who don't have games will come to us.

01:36They will experience it. They will enjoy playing Adang-ka-adang, Trumpo.

01:40So, at least in a simple way,

01:42we will give them an opportunity to experience our local games.

01:47More than 12,000 delegates aged 12 to 17 years old

01:52will be able to participate in the 2024 edition of Batang Pinoy

01:57from November 23 to 28 in Palawan.
