00:00The Philippines' ability to guard our maritime territory is highly dependent on the help of the Sama-Sama Exercises 2024

00:11where some countries of the Philippine Navy are also involved.

00:16This has nothing to do with the geopolitical tensions in the region.

00:23Sama-samang maglalayag ang mga barko ng mga bansang Kalahok sa Sama-sama Exercise 2024.

00:32Isinagawa ang opening ceremony kahapon sa Naval Operating Base sa Subic, Zambales.

00:38Anim na bansa ang Kalahok sa Sama-sama Exercise 2024.

00:42Kabilang ang Pilipinas, US, Japan, Canada, France, at Australia.

00:48Magsisilbing observer ang United Kingdom.

00:51Magkakaroon naman ang sama-samang paglalayag o group sail ang mga barko ng mga Kalahok na bansa.

00:58Sa bahagi ng Hilagang Luzon, gagawin ng group sail.

01:02Hindi lalagpas sa 12 nautical miles territorial sea.

01:05Gagamitin din ang iba't-ibang aerial assets.

01:09For the Philippines, we're going to use our frigates.

01:15We have other patrol vessels to participate in this exercise.

01:23And then, of course, we have the smaller ones.

01:27There are a lot of skills that we want to develop.

01:31Mas malaki at malawak ang sama-sama exercise ngayong taon.

01:36Nakatoon ang dalawang linggo na pagsasanay sa pagpapalakas ng pagtutulungan ng mga magkakaalyadong Navy.

01:43Hindi raw nito target.

01:45Ang iisang bansa sa gitna ng geopolitical tension sa regyon.

01:49The focus here is on interoperability.

01:52And on building partner capacity and interoperability for security in the region.

01:58The intent of this exercise is not to ruffle feathers.

02:02It's tailored for interoperability.

02:05This is really about honing our skills.

02:08This has been going for decades already.

02:11So this is not new and it's not intended for any other purpose.
