00:30Different resource speakers came and faced the congressmen.

00:34But former President Rodrigo Duterte did not face them here.

01:05The congressmen were dismayed by the absence of former President Rodrigo Duterte

01:11in the 10th hearing of the House Squad Committee on the issues of illegal drugs

01:16and what were the extrajudicial killings during the administration.

01:20For the lawyers, Duterte still has a lot to answer.

01:24And his testimony in the Senate is not enough.

01:27In the next hearing, Duterte's lawyer, Atty. Martin Delgra III, is also being called by the Squad Committee.

01:34Delgra was the first to send a letter to the Joint Panel

01:37where he laid out the reasons why his client did not attend.

01:41This is because the former president doubted the integrity and motive of the Squad Committee.

01:47Mr. Chair, I don't think the former president will ever attend the Squad Committee hearing.

01:54And since Atty. Delgra is his lawyer, I would want to ask him about the content of his letter.

02:02But even though Duterte did not attend, there were many other resource speakers who attended the hearing.

02:07Like the former police colonel Eduardo Asierto,

02:10former customs intelligence officer Jimmy Guban,

02:13negotiator Rose Nonolin,

02:15former PT FOMS Executive Director Paul Gutierrez,

02:18and former DNR Undersecretary Benny Antiporda.

02:21Asierto has a heavy accusation against former President Duterte.

02:26Maybe the biggest accomplishment is that I discovered,

02:33we discovered the protection that President Duterte gave to two drug personalities,

02:42Michael Yang and Allan Lee.

02:46I think that's my biggest accomplishment.

02:50That's why I was able to discover two of them.

02:56In his interviews before, Duterte accused Asierto because of the issue of illegal drugs.

03:04When the former president faced the Squad Committee,

03:07this was one of the issues they wanted to clarify.

03:10Before the hearing, a mass was held in the chamber

03:13for the victims of the Umanoy extrajudicial killings during the administration.

03:18The Quad Com leaders also announced a new resolution from their investigation on POGO.

03:25That is House Bill No. 11043 or Proposed Civil for Future Act

03:30that pushes to return to the state the illegal lands bought by foreigners in the country.

03:36This is a big step because we discovered a lot of properties

03:44that were acquired by foreign nationals in our country.

03:47We know that this is against our Constitution.

03:51That's why we are clarifying this through this House Bill

03:56so that it will not be repeated.
