00:38are considering another protest in defense of public universities on November 12th.
00:44Hello, welcome to From the South, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televisa Studios in Havana,
00:51Cuba.
00:52Let's begin with the news.
01:11The Lebanese Hezbollah resistance group announced this October 29th that its new secretary-general
01:16will be Sheikh Naeem Kassem.
01:18Kassem was deputy for more than three decades to former leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed
01:22in an Israeli strike.
01:24The group vowed to continue Nasrallah's policies until victory is achieved.
01:28Kassem has long been one of Hezbollah's leading spokesmen, giving interviews to foreign media
01:34even during the period of heightened confrontation with Israel this year.
01:43At least 60 people were killed during Israeli attacks on eastern Lebanon this October 28th.
01:48The Israeli offensive targeted the Bekaa Valley and the Baalbek region.
01:53For his part, the governor of Baalbek, Hermel Bashir Kold, said that the attacks also left
01:58more than 100 people wounded.
02:01He described the bombings as the most violent since the new escalation of the conflict between
02:05Israel and Hezbollah began last month.
02:07The Israeli Genocidal Forces did not make comments.
02:10However, they reported that at around midnight, approximately five projectiles were fired
02:16from Lebanon into Israeli territory.
02:18Earlier on October 28th, Israel also bombed the ancient Lebanese city of Tire, shortly
02:23after calling for the evacuation of large parts of the city.
02:30The Lebanese health ministry said that the search for survivors continues after Israeli
02:34strikes on October 27th across southern Lebanon killed at least 21 people.
02:39Nine people resulted dead and 38 wounded in a strike on Hared Zayda near the port city
02:43of Sidon.
02:44Moreover, at least seven others, including a nurse and three rescuers, were killed in
02:49the southern village of Ain Bal and Faifim Bush al-Shamali.
02:53According to reports, the strike on Hared Zayda, about 60 kilometers from the Israeli
02:58border, completely destroyed the top floor of a three-story building.
03:02Nearby buildings were also damaged while rescue workers continued the search for survivors.
03:09In Palestine, the Israeli army commits a new massacre after bombing a building sheltering
03:16displaced families in the north of the Gaza Strip.
03:19Palestinian authorities report that a number of people were killed in the bombing raids
03:22to 77, which targeted a five-story building located in the city of Beit Lahaya.
03:30According to residence testimonies, more than 100 people were sheltered in the place when
03:35it was hit by Israeli missiles.
03:43In Palestine, 25 days of total siege are complied by the Israeli occupation army on the Jabalia
03:50refugee camp in the north of Gaza, where the population is subjected to constant attacks
03:55and starvation.
03:56At least two people were killed and several wounded in a new Israeli bombing in Jabalia
04:00on the night of October 28th.
04:02The airstrikes are taking place in parallel to a ground operation of the Zionist troops
04:06in the area, which has already left around 1,000 dead in four weeks, while the entry
04:11of food and health aid is being blocked.
04:14On the other hand, in the last hours, the occupation forces burned the Al-Faqura school,
04:19affiliated to the United Nations Agency for Palestinian Refugees.
04:24Israel's parliament on October 28th passed a law binding the United Nations Relief and
04:31Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East from operating in the country.
04:37Lawmaker Boaz Bismuth declared that the law passed is a call for justice, adding that
04:41the agency is helping Hamas and not the refugees.
04:44Likewise, lawmakers passed another law binding ties between Israeli officials and the agency.
04:50Both laws will take effect within 60 to 90 days after Israel informs the United Nations.
04:54Meanwhile, Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that United Nations workers
04:59involving terrorist activities against Israel must be held accountable.
05:08And in Israel as well, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet and the occupying army
05:12faced considerable pressure due to the number of military casualties during the genocide
05:16perpetrated against Palestine.
05:17The Israeli army has faced a significant number of military casualties, a situation that has
05:22sparked an intense internal debate about Israel's military strategy, as well as concerns about
05:27the security of the troops and the management of these conflicts.
05:31For his part, the president of the Zionist entity, Isaac Herzog, affirmed that a heavy
05:35burden with our president has fallen on the shoulders of the occupation army as a consequence
05:39of strategies that have not been very assertive.
05:42In turn, the Israeli people have demanded greater clarity about the circumstances of
05:46the casualties, while opposition parties have taken advantage of the situation to criticize
05:50Netanyahu, questioning his decision making and military planning.
05:58In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, the government confirmed that a drone wreckage
06:04found in Pyongyang points to a new incursion attempt by South Korea.
06:08The defense ministry reported that the drone took off from the South Korean island of Baekryeong
06:12during his flight.
06:14Politically motivated propaganda was spread around the foreign ministry's headquarters.
06:19The DPRK's government underscored that a final warning has already been given to Seoul's
06:23reckless political and military provocation, which has crossed the red line.
06:28The Deputy Director of the Publicity and Information Department of the Workers' Party, Kim Jong-un,
06:32reaffirmed that such acts will be addressed with a resounding response.

09:05from Delaware.
09:06Biden mentioned that the White House is holding talks with Egypt on a proposal for a two-day

09:38inspected the vehicle in the municipality of San Luis Río, Colorado, and found almost
09:421,000 packages of white powder with narcotic characteristics inside.
09:46Both the detainee and the seized contents were handed over to the competent authorities
09:50to determine their legal status and to continue with the investigations and expert actions

10:54country, marking this day an adding to the holiday for the Day of the Dead and the independence
10:59of Cuenca.
11:00This decision, however, could be a preventive measure due to the energy crisis that the
11:04country is currently experiencing, with prolonged blackouts of up to 14 consecutive hours.
11:09According to the ministerial office, there will be four days of holiday and the companies
11:14will have to resume their activities on Monday, November 4.

12:48In Argentina, the university unions will hold a new national strike on October 30th and
12:52are considering another protest in defense of public universities, which could take place
12:57on November 12th.
12:58The unions will take part in a new strike this week, in which they will join the two
13:02main academic federations, Conadu and Conadu Histórica.
13:06For its part, a union of the University of Buenos Aires began a week of strike with public
13:10classes at a press conference.
13:12They said that so far during the Millet government they have lost 30% of their salaries in real
13:17terms and are more than 60 points behind with respect to inflation.
13:28Also in Argentina, the National Transport Board will paralyze the country on October
13:3230th, seeking to break the trade union peace with the government and make visible the discontent
13:37with the adjustment policies.
13:38It will not be possible to travel or dispatch goods by train or plane, nor by taxi, on the
13:44ground or boat.
13:45Meanwhile, the union the Transviarios Automotor, led by Roberto Fernández, will maintain the
13:50service throughout October 30th, although it has called a strike for October 31st.
13:55The measure of force was decided the previous week, when the National Transport Board gathered
14:02the main leaders of the sector.
14:04In that meeting, they ratified a disagreement with the policies of the government, the fall
14:08of the emergency power of wages and the plans of privatization.
14:12And we stay in Argentina.
14:17The government creates a contingency plan with the aim of mitigating the critical condition
14:21of energy supply and instructs measures to be taken by companies.
14:24The measures announced are linked to the supply, transport and distribution of energy within
14:28the framework of the system's emergency.
14:30Cabinet Chief Guillermo Franco spoke about the need to make some agreements with the
14:34productive and industrial sectors to rationalize electricity consumption.
14:38At the same time, it is established that all actions will be taken to obtain energy imports
14:43from neighboring countries at times of high demand on critical days.
14:48In other news, in Argentina, the prelude to a transport strike to reject the privatization
14:56of airlines.
14:57The government will resume the agenda to move forward in Congress with the law to return
15:01the flag carrier to private ownership, as it was in earlier years.
15:05The project will be reactivating committees of deputies, while the privatization discourse
15:10is still the order of the day, and the government maintains disciplinary measures, such as the
15:13expulsion of Pablo Vidal from the board of directors.
15:17Argentina's initiative to privatize airlines, although it was always its basic intention,
15:22was tied to the aeronautical conflict.
15:24The 28th International Ballet Festival of Havana, Alicia Alonso, began on October 28th
15:48and will end on November 10th of this year.
15:50The festival is hosted by Prima Ballerina Vince Valdez, General Director of the National
15:54Ballet of Cuba.
15:56The festival includes the participation of the National Ballet of Cuba, as well as artists
16:00and companies from other countries.
16:01An important part of the program is the six performances of the classic ballet, Swan Lake,
16:06featuring leading figures of the Cuban company and guest stars.
16:09For the first time, the Alicia Alonso Havana International Ballet Festival collaborates
16:12with the Havana Clásica Festival.
16:15Expression of this link is the performance of eminent Cuban pianist Marcos Madrigal,
16:20director of Havana Clásica, as well as other virtuous performers from Cuba.
16:29In this sense, one of the most prestigious companies in the world, the Cuban National
16:32Ballet, on October 28th celebrates its 76th anniversary with the desire to share art in
16:37a new edition of this international festival.
16:40The company was founded in 1948, with Alicia Alonso as its main founder and leading figure.
16:46The advent of the revolution in 1959 marked the beginning of a new era for Cuban ballet,
16:51which has since then experienced a vertiginous boom, enriching its repertoire and promoting
16:55the development of new dancers, choreographers, teachers and other creators.
17:00The Cuban National Ballet is the highest expression of the Cuban Ballet School, and in addition
17:04to its intense activity in the country, it has developed an annual program of international
17:08tours.
