00:17In the passing of Hurricane Christine, 125 people were affected and more than 100 people were lost.

00:26But how can we know if your area is likely to be hit by a landslide?

00:30In the briefing of the Office of Civil Defense regarding the effects of Hurricane Christine,

00:34the Geohazard Map of the Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the DNR was also given.

01:37more data is needed to make the landslide prediction more accurate.

01:42As of now, we have met about 50% for our updating of the 1 in 10,000 scale

01:48of our rain-induced landslide and flooding.

01:51And we aim to finish it by 2028.

01:54The barangay of Sampaloc in Talay, Batangas, where there are 20 deaths in the landslide,

01:59is red in the Geohazard Map.

02:01This means that there is a high chance of a landslide if it rains heavily.

02:05Aside from the Hazard Map, there are some places where a warning sign has been placed

02:08that it is close to a landslide.

02:10As a reminder from the OCD, there is a lot of information about disasters whenever there is bad weather.

02:15It just needs to be known and used.
