00:00Hundreds of thousands of pesos worth of properties were burned in a sudden fire in a residential area in San Mateo, Rizal.

00:09This was reported by Donald Tincunco.

00:15It only lasted for half an hour.

00:18But this is how it spread.

00:20This fire was left in the compound in Ampid 1, San Mateo, Rizal.

00:24Not less than 23 houses were burned that started past 12.30 this morning.

00:3118 families lost their homes.

00:33I didn't do anything. I just went down.

00:36If I didn't go down, I would have been burned too.

00:38I just evacuated the other children so that there wouldn't be too many to burn.

00:44This woman, who is confined in the hospital and was supposed to be operated on this afternoon,

00:49had to talk to a doctor so that she could go home when she found out that the fire was happening in their area.

00:55Thankfully, they only brought a window to the fire.

00:59It was right next to where the fire started.

01:01It was my house.

01:03The curtains of our house caught fire, but our windows burst open.

01:11According to San Mateo Fire Station, they had a hard time extinguishing the fire,

01:15not only because of the wind and the smoke,

01:17but also because of the houses and the narrow streets that were blocked by vehicles.

01:23It's light materials, so it's easy to spread.

01:26We had a hard time because it was very tight.

01:28Our windows were parked, so it took us a long time to remove the tricycles.

01:35No one was injured or burned, but it is estimated that 300,000 pesos were lost.

01:42The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
