00:00Severe tropical storm Christine may have exited the country stage left
00:03But we may not have seen the last of it yet as weather forecasters warn of a potential turnabout
00:10still the president ordered a comprehensive and sustained provision of relief aid and rescue efforts and to spare no government asset to
00:19Include those for exclusive presidential use in doing so. PTV's Kenneth Pachente tells us more
00:26President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured aid will be provided to communities affected by severe tropical storm Christine
00:34The president has ordered the mobilization of AFP personnel and resources for relief operations

00:47The president also ordered the deployment of air assets, watercraft
00:51including the presidential helicopters and other equipment to focus on rescue operations and
00:56Rehabilitation. The president also wants an uninterrupted flow of assistance to those in need
01:01Therefore the president has directed cabinet secretaries of various government agencies to assist in the relief and rehabilitation process
01:09The DBM has been instructed to release without delay the necessary funds for the required resources

01:26The Department of Agriculture was also tasked to release payments for crop insurance to affected farmers
01:32While the DPWH is instructed to speed up road clearing operations and repair damaged roads and bridges
01:39Meanwhile the president expressed sympathy to those affected by the storm and recognized the resiliency of local governments in responding to calamities

02:3014 rescue boats without two mortars have also been deployed. The C-130 that left at 649 has
02:37arrived at Bicol International Airport at 749
02:42and
02:43there is another element of Black Hawk helicopters that are in Legaspi and are attempting to go to
02:53Nara. The government is also preparing air operations to Bicol and is all set to deploy AFP airlift assets
03:00for action in the areas that remain flooded in Bicol
03:04so
03:05In Kamsu right now as of about one hour ago
03:09Of the 36 towns, nine towns are still fully submerged
03:14Around six towns are partially submerged
03:17But the province has been very very quick in distributing house-to-house
03:22food distribution and every area has already been
03:28been reached and we are augmenting the
03:31province's food supplies
03:34Although delivering assistance to certain areas of the country remains a challenge due to widespread flooding
03:39The president assured this will not be an excuse for delays in aid efforts
03:44That is where the airlift capability will come in
03:48That we have set up triage camps on both sides of Maharlika highway that is presently now still cut off
03:55So those are providing food and medicines on site
04:00and we are in constant contact with our
04:04local government units
04:06so that
04:08We are in close coordination with the first responders who are of course
04:13those who guide us in where
04:16The most critical areas are. The chief executive also led a situational briefing today in Malacanang palace
04:22The president directed rapid assistance to affected individuals and the immediate rehabilitation of all damage left by typhoon christine
04:29Certainly, the relief, the rescue relief, we can't delay it
04:38So we just have to keep going. He also encouraged the relevant government agencies not to pause or even pause in providing assistance
04:46we'll just have to keep monitoring the situation and
04:49And make sure
04:51always the rescue and relief are
04:56That cannot stop it doesn't matter if there's another storm coming we cannot stop
05:00That cannot stop this afternoon. The president also conducted an aerial inspection over Batangas, Cavite and Laguna
05:07Areas severely flooded due to the sheer volume and unrelating rain
05:11This to personally assess the storm's impact and plan the necessary solutions for the damage it caused from PTV
