00:00So much work to do, so little time.
00:02Hence, there can't be no let-up in the work in the House and its sworn duty to always
00:08provide public service.
00:10Avow the House leadership assured to perform on the day of the unveiling of the administration's
00:16Magic 12 candidates for the Senate in next year's polls and with the GAA yet to pass
00:21muster at the Senate and with the President.
00:25PTV correspondent Mela Lasmoras tells us more.
00:30Even with the elections fast approaching, the House leadership assures the public their
00:36work and service to the public will remain uninterrupted.
00:40According to House Deputy Majority Leader for Communications Erwin Tulfo, House Speaker
00:44Martin Numaldez already has a plan in place as they will definitely not stop especially
00:50since there are still important bills to pass before the year ends.
00:54It doesn't mean to say that because the elections are coming, the lawmakers will not work anymore.
00:59If it was done during the time of pandemic, maybe if they voted online, that's what will
01:06happen.
01:07That's what I heard initially with the Speaker when he talked to some political party leaders
01:13that we will return to online voting, hearing, so that even the candidates who are in remote
01:22places in their provinces attending to the needs of their constituents can still vote.
01:28Tulfo is one of the administration's senatorial bets in the upcoming elections.
01:33With this, the lawmaker expressed deep gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marquez, Jr. for
01:38the trust and support.
01:39I talked to the President last week and he invited me.
01:44Currently, the House of Representatives is on a session break, but their committee hearings
02:09will continue.
02:10Before the adjournment, the lower house passed on 3rd and final reading House Bill No. 10-800
02:16or the proposed 6.352 trillion pesos national budget for 2025.
02:21Speaker Waldez said they are confident the 2025 gap they passed will further advance
02:26the country's development.
02:28We are on our way as one of Asia's best performing major emerging economies among East Asia's
02:36economies that have disclosed their second quarter 2024 GDP.
02:41We rank just below Vietnam at 6.9% while leading Malaysia at 5.8, Indonesia at 5.1, and China
02:50at 4.7%.
02:52The House Speaker also recognized the significant contributions of the minority bloc, especially
02:58during the budget proceedings.
03:00They may have opposing views at times for the House leader.
03:03What matters, he said, is that they all share the same goal and that is to have a better
03:07Philippines.
03:08On behalf of the members of the minority, I would like to extend our sincerest gratitude
03:18to the able leadership of Speaker Ferdinand Martin Rumwaldes and Majority Leader Manix
03:25Dalipi for allowing the minority the opportunity to scrutinize the budget and recommend proposals
03:34to address pressing national concerns.
03:37Mela Lasmoras from the National TV Network for New and Better Philippines.
