Five men, including a person with disabilities, pleaded not guilty in the Klang Sessions Court on Friday (Oct 25) to a charge of committing armed gang robbery at a businessman's house in Pandamaran, Klang early this month.

00:09M. S. Lingeshwaran, age 23, P. S. Tamilkumaran, age 38, G. Siva, age 33, R. Tamilarasan, age 33,
00:22and S. Nagan, age 28, made the plea before Judge Sharifa Hassindi Syed Omar on Friday.
00:28They were jointly charged with committing the robbery when armed with machetes at a property
00:33belonging to a 54-year-old man in Pandamaran, Port Klang at 6.16am last October 3rd and fled
00:41with prayer idols worth 74,500 ringgit. CCTV footage of the robbery went viral. The charge,
00:49framed under Section 395 and 397 of the Penal Code, provides imprisonment for up to 20 years
00:56and liable to whipping upon conviction. All five accused were allowed bail of 10,000 ringgit with
01:01one surety each and ordered to report themselves at a nearby police station once a month
01:06and to not intimidate witnesses. The court set January 8th next year for mention.
