Man shot dead after resisting arrest in Rawang

A man linked to 26 criminal cases including burglary and theft was shot dead by police while attempting to evade arrest at Kampung Baru Kundang in Rawang on Wednesday (Sept 25) morning.

00:11The 37-year-old suspect was tracked down by a team of officers who tried to arrest him
00:16at Kampung Baru Kundang in Rawang at around 2 a.m.
00:20Selangor Police Chief Commissioner Datuk Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect was told to stop
00:25his vehicle but refused to do so.
00:28Instead, the suspect reversed his vehicle into a police car and another car parked
00:33in the neighbourhood.
00:35Hussein said this forced the police to open fire in self-defence and the suspect swerved
00:40his vehicle to the side of the road.
00:42He said the suspect was hit during the shooting and died at the scene.
00:46Police seized several items from the suspect's vehicle including machetes, cutter and axe.
00:53The suspect was involved in a shop break-in in Damansara prior to the incident.
