00:00Not only those affected by the Christine storm in Albay received help from the DSWD,
00:06but also those who fled due to the eruption of the Mayon Volcano.
00:10The details are reported by Gary Karl Carilio of Radyo Pilipinas, Albay.
00:17The government continues to pressure the residents affected by the Christine storm in the province of Albay,
00:25asking for relief assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development, BCOL,
00:29to the residents living near the Mayon Volcano in the province of Kinubatan, Albay.
00:35The residents of Family Food Box received basic food and daily necessities.
00:41According to KGAWA Joey Opeña,
00:44this was not the first time the government helped them
00:47because they were one of the recipients of help from President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:53during the eruption of the Mayon Volcano.
00:56We are really grateful to the BBM for the support they are giving.
01:03Even last year, when the volcano erupted,
01:08they did not leave the evacuees in Albay alone.
01:13The money they are giving came from the government.
01:18Lola Lidia Nebrea is also thankful for the help received from the DSWD, BCOL.
01:24We are thankful because we received relief.
01:29We were not left behind during the evacuation.
01:33The Mayor did not leave us behind.
01:37According to Mayor Paul Chino Garcia of Kinubatan,
01:40520 families or 1,166 individuals
01:47from the two barangays in the 8-kilometer permanent danger zone of the Mayon Volcano
01:52were evacuated to evacuation centers
01:54before the eruption of Hurricane Christine.
01:57The Mayor also plans to provide assistance
02:00to the residents affected by the landslides caused by the eruption.
02:04Once we saw the damage, especially the upland barangays,
02:09there were a lot of recorded landslides.
02:11So even if we did not evacuate, we will provide food supplies.
